Additional information

Walk the wooden boardwalks of the Vintgar Gorge, suspended over the jade Radovna River. Watch rapids and rock pools flash beneath you as bridges lead toward the curtain of the Šum Waterfall, where spray rises through a cool, narrow cleft.

Continue to Lake Bled for time along the shore beneath the clifftop castle, with views to the tiny island church. The scene blends alpine freshness with storybook charm in one of Slovenia’s most iconic settings.

Glide across Lake Bled aboard a traditional pletna boat, rowed standing by a local pletnar, to the tiny wooded Bled Island. The calm crossing sets a contemplative tone amid alpine peaks and mirror-like water.

Visit the Church of the Assumption and, if you wish, ring the wishing bell before returning to shore. This is an optional experience at additional cost, bookable on tour and subject to weather and operating hours.

Join a guided hike from Kranjska Gora into the tranquil Krnica Valley, where spruce-scented paths lead beneath towering limestone walls to the welcoming Krnica Lodge. The route is gentle yet scenic, ideal for settling into the Julian Alps’ rhythm.

Pause at Lake Jasna, its glassy waters mirroring pine slopes and peaks. Stroll the shoreline and spot the statue of the famed Zlatorog ibex as mountain light dances across the lake’s clear shallows.

Walk from Gozd Martuljek under the dramatic face of Špik Mountain to the Lower and Upper Martuljek Waterfalls. Steps and footbridges trace a narrow gorge where the river tumbles through shadowed clefts and sunlit spray.

Feel the cool mist as the upper fall plunges more than 110m over pale limestone. Forest scents, rushing water, and jagged ridgelines create a classic alpine atmosphere—wild, refreshing, and beautifully photogenic.

Cross the border into Italy to explore the glacial Laghi di Fusine. Trace forest paths around Lago Superiore and Lago Inferiore, where larch and fir descend to water so clear it seems to hold the mountains in suspension.

Look for mirror-still coves that reflect the Mangart massif, and listen for woodpeckers in the pines. The route blends gentle walking with superb lake-and-peak vistas in a tranquil cross-border corner of the Alps.

Set out in Triglav National Park from Rudno Polje, walking through spruce forest to storybook Zajamniki shepherds’ huts. The neat wooden roofs, hay meadows, and cowbells capture a timeless rhythm of alpine pastoral life.

Continue to the Uskovnica pasture for a relaxed lodge stop and sweeping views toward the Bohinj valley and the Triglav massif. This circular route blends cultural heritage with tranquil mountain scenery.

Pause at the Planica Nordic Centre to see one of the world’s great ski-jumping arenas, where a vast ski-flying hill rises boldly from an alpine valley. The sweeping ramps and grandstands anchor a dramatic mountain amphitheatre.

Hear how this site became the birthplace of ski flying in Slovenia, with record-breaking leaps that shaped winter-sport history. It’s an eye-opening contrast to summer’s hiking landscapes—and a striking photo stop.

Climb to Bled Castle, a medieval fortress perched 130m above the lake. Explore the small museum, chapel, and historic printing workshop while learning how this cliff-top stronghold guarded trade routes across the centuries.

Step onto terraces for clifftop views over the water and the island church, a classic Slovenian panorama. This is an optional experience at additional cost, bookable on tour and subject to opening times.

Meet your group in Kranjska Gora and meet your tour leader for a concise welcome briefing that sets the tone for the week’s hiking—routes, safety, and how to make the most of the Julian Alps. The alpine town’s peaks frame the scene, adding a sense of adventure from the start.

Continue with a convivial group dinner, where you sample Slovenian dishes—hearty mountain fare complemented by regional wines. Expect a warm introduction to local hospitality, shared stories, and the rhythms of alpine life.

Follow an easy trail into the Možnica Gorge, crossing sturdy wooden bridges above emerald pools and polished limestone flutings. The water runs clear and cold, threading through narrow passages shaped by ice and flood.

Set near the famed Soca Valley, this quiet side gorge feels intimate and secluded. Expect the chorus of water, mossy rock walls, and dappled forest light—nature’s own sculpture gallery inviting unhurried exploration and photography.

Begin at the high switchbacks of the Vršic Pass and ascend larch-fringed slopes to Slemenova Špica. Alpine tarns and meadows frame the razor profile of Jalovec, whose pale ramparts define one of Slovenia’s most admired mountain views.

This compact, moderately graded walk delivers big horizons—saw-toothed ridges, rolling pastures, and shifting cloud shadows—making it a favorite for wide-angle photographs and quiet moments above the tree line.
