Additional information

All breakfasts, six packed lunches (made yourself from the breakfast buffet) and seven three-course dinners are included.

An evening meal at the hotel is included on the first night in Bergen and on the last night in Voss. At Nes Gard, the owner prepares excellent home-cooked food, often with fruit from their own farm. There is a strong focus on locally grown produce.

Explore the Norwegian Glacier Museum in Fjærland, an angular, Sverre Fehn–designed building that mirrors surrounding peaks. Engage with interactive exhibits on ice, climate and time, and watch film sequences that bring calving fronts and hidden crevasses to life.

Contextual displays connect your fjord walks to the science of glaciers and the realities of climate change in the north. Staff are on hand to answer questions and point out links to the landscapes you’ll see outside.

Hike to the airy crest of Molden on a well-graded forest path, cresting the Svarthiller mountain farm en route. From the 1,116m top, gaze along Lustrafjord into Sognefjord, the King of the Fjords, with snow-capped peaks serrating the skyline.

This rewarding hike to Molden summit balances effort with outsized panoramas, ideal for mixed hiking experience. Bask in panoramic ridge views as wind rustles dwarf birch and the fjord shimmers far below.

Cruise deep into Norway’s heart on a two-hour ferry cruise between the sheer cliffs of Nærøyfjord. Glide past lace-thin waterfalls, tiny farms clinging to ledges, and mirror-calm water where mountains double in reflection.

Part of the UNESCO-listed West Norwegian Fjords, this narrow channel reveals geology carved by ice over millennia. Listen for goat bells across the water and pause for photos and reflection as the boat threads one of Scandinavia’s most dramatic natural corridors.

Visit Urnes Stave Church, poised above Lustrafjord with sweeping water and mountain views. Step into a medieval timber interior where incense once lingered and daylight filters through tar-darkened pine.

As a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Urnes preserves exquisite Urnes-style wood carvings that bridge Viking art and Christian symbolism. Your visit reveals Norway’s early craftsmanship and the quiet dignity of a sanctuary weathering centuries beside the fjord.

Skim the turquoise Nigardsbrevatnet by small boat, then hike a moraine path to the snout of Nigardsbreen, an arm of Jostedalsbreen. Hear meltwater roar and feel cool katabatic winds as you approach the blue ice front.

Inside Jostedalsbreen National Park, this outing spotlights glacial geology at close range. Note polished bedrock and striations, boat across Nigardsbrevatnet, and pause for photos and reflection where ice, rock and lake meet in a palette of steel and sapphire.

Walk into Krundalen toward Bergsetbreen, where a towering ice wall spills from the high plateau. The trail follows a lively river, with birch scrub, boulders and views of glacier-hung cliffs guiding your approach.

This gentle ramble reveals how the Krundalen valley was sculpted by ice and meltwater. Trace moraines, hear distant ice calving, and savor alpine scenery that frames the glacier like a stage set.

Set out to hike into Mørkridsdalen, beginning in a narrow gorge where a waterfall-echoed canyon opens to airy moorland. Follow a well-worn path beside rushing streams toward weathered cabins and flower-bright clearings.

This protected valley showcases traditional summer farms (seter), birch woods and lichen-padded rocks under high peaks. Expect varied terrain, birdsong and broad views—an accessible slice of West Norwegian wildland.

Climb a steady trail to the Besshovden viewpoint, a perch above Fjærland where ridges fall away to fjord and farm. From the top, take in Fjærlandsfjorden and bright slivers of the Jostedalsbreen ice cap crowning the horizon.

This half-day hike pairs crisp mountain air with generous sightlines, ideal for photographers and walkers alike. Rest on sun-warmed rock and trace the contours of valleys, farms and water below.

Board to ride the Flåm Railway, one of the world’s steepest standard-gauge lines. Peer into ravines, pass the thunder of Kjosfossen waterfall, and admire engineering that threads tunnels and ledges between Flåm and high-alp Myrdal.

Step off to hike the Rallarvegen and Flåm Valley trail, descending past stone bridges, farms and spray-veiled cascades to Blomheller. Trace the dramatic 21 hairpin bends of Myrdalsberget as mountains close in and the valley widens below.

Clip into crampons for a guided glacier walk on Nigardsbreen. Roped up with expert guides, pick your way between blue seracs and serrated crevasses, using crampons and an ice axe to gain secure footing on the ice.

Instruction, safety gear and specialist guidance are provided; fitness and surefootedness are essential. This experience is at additional cost, weather-dependent, and bookable on tour with your leader.

Explore historic Bergen on a guided orientation walk through the UNESCO-listed Bryggen wharf. Trace narrow lanes of timber warehouses, pass the harborside Fisketorget fish market, and view stout Bergenhus Fortress and tranquil St Mary’s Church as sea air mingles with roasting coffee.

Hear how Hanseatic traders shaped this North Sea port and read the city’s story in its colorful gables. You’ll meet your Tour Director for practical tips and neighborhood suggestions, setting a relaxed rhythm for your time on Norway’s fjords.
