Experience a guided cellar tour and tasting at historic Blaauwklippen Wine Estate, one of Stellenbosch’s venerable properties. An included lunch pairs regional produce with acclaimed wines, celebrating terroir and centuries of Cape winemaking tradition.

Join a guided panoramic tour beneath the gaze of Table Mountain, taking in the leafy Company’s Garden, the Grand Parade and City Hall, where Mandela spoke in 1990. Gain a clear sense of the city’s layout, from heritage avenues to the bustling V&A Waterfront.

Stroll through Bo-Kaap, famed for its candy-coloured facades and Cape Malay heritage, where the aroma of spices drifts from family kitchens. Photo stops and insightful commentary help you plan further explorations without the need for museum admissions.

Gather for a convivial evening to meet your Tour Director and like-minded guests over a relaxed welcome dinner. Share first impressions of Africa while attentive staff introduce the flavours and hospitality that define the region.

Your Tour Director outlines the journey ahead—wildlife-rich safaris, coastal scenery and vineyard landscapes—setting a warm, collaborative tone for the days to come and easing solo travellers into a friendly, supportive group dynamic.

Soar above the Zambezi on the celebrated Flight of Angels, choosing a helicopter or microlight for sweeping aerial arcs over the thundering cataracts and the sinuous Batoka Gorge. From this vantage, the scale of the Smoke that Thunders becomes truly apparent.

This is an optional experience at additional cost, bookable on tour and weather permitting. Pilots trace the river’s course to reveal fluid patterns of spray, rainforest and basalt cliffs in one continuous, exhilarating panorama.

Board a small boat for Livingstone Island, where guides lead a cautious approach to the rim and, in low-water months, a guided dip in the natural Devil’s Pool—a thrilling perch above the churning abyss with unmatched photographic angles.

This seasonal excursion is optional and at additional cost, bookable on tour and strictly weather and water-level dependent. Expert guides manage safety while sharing the island’s exploration history and river lore.

Extend your wildlife time with an extra foray—either a predator-primed 4×4 drive or a tranquil cruise along reed-fringed channels. Golden light, mirrored water and close-up sightings of elephant herds and basking crocodiles heighten the drama of this famed ecosystem.

This activity is optional and at additional cost, bookable on tour. It’s an ideal add-on for photographers and nature lovers eager to deepen their understanding of Chobe’s habitats and behaviour patterns.

Test your mettle against the Zambezi’s apex game fish on a guided tigerfish expedition. Skippers position the boat along deep runs and eddies, coaching technique for explosive strikes and ensuring ethical catch and release practices.

This optional activity is at additional cost and bookable on tour. Tackle is provided, and calm channels or faster drifts can be chosen to suit experience levels, pairing river scenery with an adrenaline-sharpened challenge.

Ride the revolving cable car to Table Mountain’s sandstone plateau for 360-degree views over Table Bay, the Twelve Apostles and distant Robben Island. Walk short, well-marked paths for fresh fynbos scents and wide-angle city panoramas.

This is an optional experience at additional cost, weather permitting. Your Tour Manager can assist with timings and tickets to make the ascent on a clear window, when the famous “tablecloth” cloud lifts.

Sail by ferry across Table Bay to Robben Island for a poignant guided tour of the former maximum-security prison, including Nelson Mandela’s cell. First-hand accounts—often by former political prisoners—bring South Africa’s struggle and reconciliation into sharp focus.

This excursion is optional and at additional cost, subject to weather and availability. It offers a powerful historical counterpoint to Cape Town’s natural beauty and an enduring message of dignity and resilience.

Join a dawn game drive through Chobe National Park in open 4x4s, when predators are active and light is soft. Scan floodplains and woodland for elephant, buffalo and, with luck, lion or leopard, while vibrant rollers, bee-eaters and fish eagles enliven the skies.

Later, drift along the water on a boat safari on the Chobe River as herds come to drink. This ecosystem harbours the world’s largest concentration of elephants; watch them bathe and interact at eye level, a humbling wildlife encounter framed by vast African horizons.

Explore rainforest pathways on a guided walking tour of Victoria Falls, known to the Tonga people as Mosi-oa-Tunya—“The Smoke that Thunders.” Feel the cool, rainbow-filled spray and hear the reverberating roar of the falls as viewpoints reveal curtains of water plunging into the chasm.

Learn how the Zambezi’s geology shaped this immense cascade and, in season, cross the Knife-Edge Bridge for mist-swirled panoramas. Your guide shares stories of explorers and local traditions, adding depth to one of Earth’s most powerful natural spectacles.

Cruise the upper Zambezi at golden hour on a classic riverboat, settling into teak deck chairs as the sundowner cruise aboard the African Queen glides past palm-fringed islands. Watch for gentle hippo and crocodile sightings while the sky deepens to copper and rose, culminating in a serene sunset over the Zambezi.

Sip included refreshments as riverine forest silhouettes and birdsong frame the scene. This is Southern Africa’s cherished ritual of “sundowners,” delivered with old-world charm and attentive crew, capturing the unhurried rhythm of Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park’s waterways.
