Additional information

Thursford Christmas Spectacular

After joining the coach, we make our way to our hotel and check in.

Thursford Christmas Spectacular

We head to Thursford for the highlight of our break, the Thursford Christmas Spectacular. Before the show, we have time to discover the ‘olde worlde’ village of shops, selling everything from fabulous Christmas decorations, gifts, crafts and toys to fashion and accessories. We then take our seats for this spectacular musical extravaganza, a delightful celebration of the festive season with an eclectic fusion of traditional carols and chart-topping favourites by a cast of over 120 professional singers, dancers and musicians.

Thursford Christmas Spectacular

We spend some time at leisure in the charming city of Norwich. One of the most complete medieval cities in the country, Norwich is steeped in history and atmosphere, with winding lanes lined with period buildings and an imposing Norman cathedral, which boasts the second tallest spire in England.

Thursford Christmas Spectacular

After breakfast, we check out of our hotel and head for home.

After arrival on day 1, settle into your JG2+ hotel near Britannia Pier and meet your Tour Director and fellow travellers over a relaxed, buffet-style meal. On departures with an evening performance, lunch will replace dinner on the show day to suit the theatre schedule, ensuring you’re well-fed before the lights go down.

The hotel’s straightforward comforts put the seafront and classic promenade moments from your door, perfect for a pre- or post-meal stroll in the salt air. Expect familiar British flavours and a friendly pace of service—an easygoing interlude that lets you soak in the seaside atmosphere between the buzz of Thursford and the heritage of Norwich.

On day 3, travel by coach to Norwich and enjoy a free afternoon to explore at your own pace. Wander the cobbles of Elm Hill and the Norwich Lanes, dip into independent boutiques and the vibrant market, or walk to the tranquil Cathedral Close to pause for photos and reflection by the River Wensum.

Once a powerhouse of the medieval wool trade, Norwich preserves a rare completeness, from its Norman castle mound to Norwich Cathedral with the second tallest spire in England. Trace stories of merchants and guilds in timber-framed frontages, then sample a café or pub for a taste of local life. The city’s layered past—from medieval prosperity to modern creativity—makes this leisurely visit as enriching as it is atmospheric.

On day 2 (or day 3 on some departures), travel across Norfolk to Thursford and browse the ‘olde worlde’ village of shops where seasonal lights glow, crafts glitter and decorations brim with colour. Warm up amid the bustle, then take your place as you take your seats for the show, a polished blend of traditional carols and chart-topping favourites performed with cinematic staging and sparkling costumes.

Born from the Thursford Collection of steam engines and fairground organs, the Spectacular is often described as Europe’s largest Christmas show, powered by a cast of over 120 professional singers, dancers and musicians. Expect the sweep of a theatre orchestra, high-kick choreography and moments to pause for photos and reflection as the lights fall and the music soars. After the performance, rejoin the coach for the return to Great Yarmouth.
