2027 Three Rivers Cruise – Rhine, Moselle & Main

After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and head to Calais for our journey home on LeShuttle.

Trace the Moselle’s graceful loops and cruise the Moselle past vineyard-clad slopes, half-timbered hamlets and riverside chapels. Watch slate-soiled terraces stacked like amphitheaters as the ship threads the valley’s tight meanders and approaches Cochem under the watchful ramparts of Reichsburg Cochem.

Romans first planted vines here, and the valley’s Riesling heritage is written in every terraced row. From the lounge or sun deck, note the ever-shifting perspectives—steep embankments, reflective bends, and hillside paths—framing one of Germany’s most scenic wine landscapes.

Explore the Heidelberg Old Town, wandering elegant Baroque streets along the Hauptstraße to the Marktplatz and the Church of the Holy Spirit. Stroll the riverside and cross the Karl Theodor Old Bridge for classic Neckar River views, with the castle’s red sandstone silhouette rising above the rooftops.

Heidelberg’s renowned university, founded in 1386, fostered Romantic-era thinkers who praised the town’s gentle light and castle-crowned hills. Cafés, bookshops and student traditions lend a scholarly charm, while lanes open onto courtyards where history, learning and leisurely living have long intertwined.

Join a hosted stroll with the onboard team through Koblenz’s cobbled lanes to the Deutsches Eck, where the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle creates sweeping river panoramas. Browse old-town squares and fountains, and pause for photos and reflection by lively cafés and historic facades.

The city’s strategic position has shaped its character for two millennia. Across the water, the Ehrenbreitstein Fortress crowns a rocky spur, linked by cable car. Equestrian statues, guild houses and restored quarters tell a story of resilience at one of Europe’s great river junctions.

Settle into life on the river as you meet your Tour Director and crew during a convivial welcome cocktail. Raise a glass of house wine, beer or a soft drink in the lounge while wide windows frame the shoreline and a relaxed sail-away mood takes hold.

Receive a friendly introduction to the ship’s amenities, dining and daily rhythms, along with highlights of ports to come. It’s an easygoing chance to connect with fellow travellers and soak in the riverside atmosphere as your journey begins.

Mark the voyage in style at the Captain’s Gala Dinner, a celebratory multi-course menu that showcases regional flavours paired with house drinks. Linger over conversation, sample regional wines and share toasts with the crew as the dining room glows with festive ambience.

On CroisiEurope, the gala evening is a cherished finale that brings the ship’s community together. Service is polished yet warm, and live music may invite you to continue the night in the lounge after dessert.

Unwind in the lounge for onboard entertainment—from live music and social dancing to quizzes or themed sets. As the ship moors, river lights flicker past the windows, and the dance floor welcomes anyone ready to extend the evening.

These casual nights reflect the convivial spirit of European river cruising. Order a favorite drink from the all-inclusive bar, chat with fellow guests and soak in the riverside atmosphere before turning in.

Join a guided panoramic tour of Frankfurt to see the historic Romerberg, timbered guild houses and the civic legacy of St Paul’s Church. Cap the experience with an ascent of the Main Tower for far-reaching skyline and river views.

From medieval trade fairs to Europe’s financial hub, Frankfurt blends heritage with modern architecture in striking fashion. This optional experience is at additional cost and bookable on board with CroisiEurope during your time in the city.

Walk or shuttle up to the hilltop stronghold for a guided visit to Cochem Castle (Reichsburg). Explore neo-Gothic salons, towers and courtyards as sweeping panoramic Moselle views reveal river bends, vineyards and the town’s steep slate roofs.

With 11th-century origins and a 19th-century restoration, Reichsburg’s romantic silhouette is a Moselle icon. This optional excursion is at additional cost and bookable on board with CroisiEurope.

Follow your guide on a guided vineyard hike above Cochem, weaving among Riesling vines on terraced slopes. Expect steady climbs, rewarding viewpoints and time to pause for photos and reflection over Riesling terraces and the Moselle’s sinuous river loops.

Learn how slate soils and sun-catching angles shape Mosel wines while you take in ridge-top panoramas. This optional hike is at additional cost and bookable on board with CroisiEurope; moderate fitness and sturdy footwear are recommended.

Board the tourist train through Rudesheim’s lanes to a tasting cellar to sample regional wines from the Rheingau. Continue to Siegfried’s Mechanical Music Cabinet to see orchestrions and music boxes spring to life, then wander the lively Drosselgasse.

Wine culture runs deep in Rudesheim, where centuries of trade and song have animated its taverns. This optional experience is at additional cost and bookable on board with CroisiEurope.

Set out on a guided vineyard walk into the Rheingau hills for wide Rhine Gorge vistas. Paths thread between rows of vines toward the Niederwald heights, with time to pause for photos and reflection over river bends and slate-green forests.

Hear how terroir, exposure and tradition shape the region’s expressive Rieslings while castle silhouettes punctuate the horizon. This optional hike is at additional cost and bookable on board with CroisiEurope.

Ascend by funicular ride to the red sandstone ruins for a guided tour of Heidelberg Castle. Stand on the Great Terrace above the Old Town and Neckar, and see curiosities such as the enormous great wine barrel inside the cellar.

Once the seat of the Prince Electors of the Palatinate, the castle bears scars from 17th-century wars yet remains a symbol of Romanticism. This optional excursion is £29pp and bookable on tour with your Tour Manager.

Glide through the UNESCO-listed Upper Middle Rhine Valley and cruise the Rhine Gorge between Koblenz and Rudesheim. From the sun deck, take in vineyard-striped hillsides, timbered villages and castle-crowned cliffs that rise directly from the water. Cameras come out as the ship rounds bends and you pause for photos and reflection near the fabled Lorelei Rock.

This storied stretch was once guarded by medieval toll towers and hilltop fortresses. Legends of a siren echo along the slate cliffs while islets and quays slip past, revealing centuries of river trade and Rhine romance that have inspired poets, painters and travelers for generations.
