Additional information
Amish Farmlands Tour & Fisher Family Homestead
Travel through Lancaster County’s Amish farmlands with a Local Specialist who shares insight into the community’s traditions. Pass working farms and visit the Fisher Family Homestead to see household details such as propane lamps.
The homestead gives a tangible view of daily life shaped by faith, family and a selective approach to modern technology. Seeing the landscape and home together helps place Amish practices in the context of this long-established Pennsylvania farming community.
George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate
Visit George Washington’s Mount Vernon Estate, the first U.S. president’s former home on the banks of the Potomac River. Explore the estate and discover a more personal side of a figure usually encountered through Washington’s monuments.
Mount Vernon connects the early republic with the realities of plantation life, including the work of enslaved people who lived there. This optional experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour; specific areas visited depend on the excursion arrangements.
Hudson River Skyline Cruise
Cruise the Hudson River to see New York City’s skyline from the water. Watch Manhattan’s towers form a broad panorama across the river, with a sense of space that is hard to find at street level.
The waterfront has long been central to New York’s identity as a port and gateway to the United States. Viewing the city from a boat brings that geography into focus while creating opportunities for skyline photographs. This optional experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
Washington, D.C. Landmarks Tour
Explore the American capital on a sightseeing tour of Washington, D.C., viewing the White House, Washington Monument and U.S. Capitol. See the National Mall, the ceremonial green space at the heart of the city.
Pause at the Lincoln Memorial and the memorials to World War II and the Vietnam War. Together, these landmarks offer a powerful introduction to the people, ideals and conflicts that have shaped the United States.
National Museum of African American History and Culture
Visit the National Museum of African American History and Culture on Washington’s National Mall. Explore exhibitions devoted to African American life, history and cultural achievement, drawing on a collection of more than 40,000 artefacts.
As the only national museum dedicated exclusively to these subjects, it places personal stories alongside the broader history of the United States. Its distinctive bronze-coloured exterior takes inspiration from the form of a Yoruba crown, making the building itself part of the experience.
Kitchen Kettle Village
Explore Kitchen Kettle Village in Pennsylvania’s Lancaster County, a collection of shops known for locally made foods and crafts. Browse shelves of homemade fudge, pickles and preserves in a setting closely tied to the region’s food traditions.
The visit offers a taste of Lancaster’s rural character beyond its farmland. Small-batch specialities and traditional recipes make this a more distinctive stop than a conventional roadside shopping break, whether you sample a treat or simply enjoy looking around.
Horseshoe Falls Boat Cruise
Cruise towards the base of Horseshoe Falls on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls. Feel the spray and hear the roar of water plunging over the curved brink as the boat approaches one of North America’s most powerful natural sights.
From the river, the scale of the falls becomes immediate: mist rises around the vessel and the cascading water fills your view. This close-up perspective offers a striking contrast to seeing Niagara only from an observation point on shore.
New York City Tour with a Local Specialist
Discover Manhattan on a guided New York City tour with a Local Specialist. See celebrated districts and landmarks including Broadway, Greenwich Village and Wall Street, while hearing the stories behind the city’s theatre, neighbourhoods and financial centre.
The sightseeing also takes in icons such as the Empire State Building, Times Square and Central Park. A possible visit to the 9/11 Memorial offers a place for reflection amid the city’s constant movement; the itinerary does not specify a museum visit.
Washington, D.C. Illumination Tour
See the capital in a different light on a Washington, D.C. illumination tour. View its famous monuments and memorials lit against the night sky, when floodlighting picks out the shapes and details of the city’s ceremonial landmarks.
Evening brings a quieter atmosphere to sites associated with national remembrance and public life. The contrast between pale stone, dark sky and reflected light makes this a distinctive opportunity to experience and photograph the capital. This optional experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
Amish Country Buggy Ride & Plain and Fancy Dinner
Experience Lancaster County from a horse-drawn buggy, travelling at a gentler pace through Pennsylvania’s Amish country. The sound of hooves and views of the surrounding farmland offer a different perspective on this rural landscape.
Enjoy a family-style dinner at Plain and Fancy, with dishes passed around the table in a setting that reflects the area’s tradition of hearty shared meals. This combined optional experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
Niagara Falls Helicopter Flight
Soar above Niagara Falls by helicopter for an aerial perspective of the waterfalls and the Niagara River. From the air, see the sweep of Horseshoe Falls and the mist rising from the gorge below.
The flight reveals the shape and setting of this natural landmark in a way that a riverside viewpoint cannot. It is a scenic choice for travellers who want to appreciate Niagara’s scale and capture photographs from above. This optional experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
Niagara-on-the-Lake & Vineyard Wine Tasting
Visit Niagara-on-the-Lake and a local vineyard for a taste of the region beyond its waterfalls. A senior wine expert leads a guided tasting featuring Peachwine, sharing insight into what you are sampling.
Niagara’s vineyards benefit from the moderating influence of nearby Lake Ontario, while the town is known for its historic streetscape. This experience pairs local flavour with a change of pace from the falls. It is optional, at additional cost and bookable on tour.
SUMMIT One Vanderbilt
Ascend SUMMIT One Vanderbilt for elevated views over Manhattan. This observation experience combines the skyline with immersive spaces, offering fresh perspectives on New York’s towers and streets.
Set high above Midtown near Grand Central Terminal, SUMMIT lets you take in the city’s density from a vantage point far removed from the bustle below. It is a distinctive choice for travellers drawn to architecture and panoramic photography. This optional experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
