Copenhagen Welcome Dinner
Meet your Travel Director and fellow small-group travellers over dinner and drinks in Copenhagen. Share Nordic dishes shaped by seasonal produce and the region’s preference for fresh, balanced flavours.
This hosted meal offers a relaxed introduction to the people travelling with you and to Denmark’s contemporary food culture, where local ingredients and simple preparation take centre stage.
Tivoli Gardens by Night
Explore Tivoli Gardens after dark, when illuminated paths wind between landscaped gardens, theatres, restaurants and historic rides in central Copenhagen. Opened in 1843, the pleasure garden remains closely woven into the life of the city.
Look for its wooden roller coaster, which still operates with a brakeman aboard. The blend of traditional attractions, planted spaces and evening lights gives Tivoli a character distinct from a modern theme park.
Copenhagen Royal Districts & Harbour Tour
Explore Copenhagen with a Local Expert, viewing the Little Mermaid on the harbourfront and the royal and political landmarks of Christiansborg Palace, Rosenborg Castle and Amalienborg Palace.
Walk beside the colourful facades of 17th-century Nyhavn, once a working waterfront. Your guide connects these varied settings to the city’s history of monarchy, government and maritime trade, making this a broad introduction to the Danish capital.
Gothenburg Food Tastings & Walking Tour
Explore Gothenburg on foot with a Local Expert and taste a fish bun at Feskekorka, the city’s distinctive 19th-century fish market hall. Sweet tastings, such as ice cream or fika, add another flavour of local life.
As you walk among canals and streets laid out in the 17th century, hear how harbour commerce shaped Sweden’s west-coast city. The combination of seafood, market traditions and urban history makes this more than a conventional sightseeing walk.
Gränna Fika at a Family-Run Café
Share Swedish fika with Mattias at his family-run café in an 18th-century wooden house above Gränna. Pause for coffee and pastries sourced from local farms and producers while taking in the setting near Lake Vättern.
Learn how the café helps fund the preservation of regional 18th-century artefacts and memorabilia. This MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® visit connects a familiar Swedish custom with the care of local heritage.
Stockholm Old Town & City Hall
Explore Stockholm with a Local Expert, moving through Gamla Stan’s medieval streets and later civic districts in a capital spread across 14 islands. See Stockholm Cathedral before stepping inside City Hall.
In the brick-built Blue Hall, picture the annual Nobel Banquet; in the Golden Hall, examine mosaics made with glass and gold leaf that depict Swedish history and mythology. Together, the old town and City Hall reveal different centuries of the capital’s public life.
Uppsala Linnaeus Storytelling Experience
Meet local storyteller Hans Odoo in Uppsala to explore the work of Carl Linnaeus, the 18th-century botanist whose methods helped shape modern biological classification. Hear how he used his garden as a living laboratory.
Linnaeus arranged and studied plants by their characteristics and origins, turning careful observation into a systematic way of understanding nature. The encounter brings scientific history to life in the Swedish university city where he worked.
Falun Farm-to-Table Dinner
Dine at a local restaurant in Falun that works with nearby farms and producers. Enjoy a seasonal menu reflecting central Sweden’s ingredients, which may draw on regional vegetables, dairy, meats and preserves.
Rather than a routine hotel meal, this dinner offers a taste of the surrounding countryside and the people who supply its kitchens. The focus on seasonal produce gives a grounded introduction to the food traditions of Dalarna.
Falun Copper Mine & Town Orientation
Visit Falun’s historic copper mine and pit and join your Travel Director for an orientation of the town that grew around it. View the vast mine crater and see how workers’ housing and streets developed beside the industrial site.

Lom Stave Church Exterior Visit
View Lom stave church, one of Norway’s largest surviving medieval wooden churches. Look for its tiered rooflines, carved portals and timber construction, with origins dating to around 1158.
Later extensions show how the building changed to serve its community while retaining its medieval frame. Set among Norway’s high valleys, the church offers a close look at a distinctive architectural tradition; the tour describes an exterior viewing rather than entry.
Geiranger Fjord Village Orientation
Discover Geiranger with your Travel Director at the head of a steep-sided fjord within a UNESCO-listed landscape. Get your bearings around the harbour and see how hillside roads, viewpoints and walking paths connect the small village to its surroundings.
The orientation highlights the unusual relationship between settlement and terrain here: buildings cluster by the water while farms, routes and viewpoints occupy the slopes above.
Bøyabreen Glacier Viewpoint
Stop at the Bøyabreen viewpoint near Fjærland to see a glacier tongue descending from the Jostedalsbreen icefield. Take photographs of the ice, exposed rock and surrounding valley from this accessible viewing area.
Moraines and marks left by earlier ice levels help illustrate how glaciers shape landscapes and change over time. This is a viewpoint stop, offering a clear perspective on the glacier without a walk onto the ice.
Norwegian Glacier Museum — Included Insight Choice
Choose to visit the Norwegian Glacier Museum in Fjærland as one of two included Insight Choice activities. Explore interactive models, films and exhibits about Norway’s glaciers and the nearby Jostedalsbreen icefield.
Learn how ice forms and moves, how it carves valleys and fjords, and how researchers monitor glacier mass and climate change. This MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® experience offers a science-focused perspective on the landscapes encountered throughout the fjord region.
Fjærland Village Walk — Included Insight Choice
Choose a guided walk through Fjærland with a Local Expert as one of two included Insight Choice activities. Pass wooden houses, boathouses and fields in the small community between the fjord and glacier valley.

Leikanger Fjordside Orientation
Get to know Leikanger with your Travel Director on the shores of Sognefjord. See the village church, waterfront and orchards that distinguish this small fjordside community.
Learn how the relatively mild climate beside the fjord supports fruit growing and small-scale farming alongside tourism. The orientation offers a closer look at settled life in the region, beyond its mountain and waterfall scenery.
Flåm Railway Journey
Ride the Flåm Railway from the Aurlandsfjord area into the mountains, watching the valley, river and waterfalls unfold through the train windows. The 20-kilometre line climbs from sea level to 866 metres.
Built in the mid-20th century with tunnels and gradients as steep as 1:18, this engineering feat links Flåm with the Bergen Railway. Its sharp ascent makes the journey a distinctive way to experience Norway’s fjord-to-mountain terrain.
Finnegarden Farm & Cider Tasting
Tour Finnegarden Farm near Voss and visit its cider house to learn how local fruit becomes juice and cider. Taste the finished drinks and notice how acidity, sweetness and aroma vary.
Hear how glacial soils, a cool inland climate and long summer days support the orchards, and how traditional and modern pressing methods are used. The visit connects the fjord region’s physical landscape to the work and flavours of a family-run producer.
Bergen Hanseatic Harbour Tour
Explore Bergen with a Local Expert, viewing the fish market, medieval Haakon’s Hall and the timber warehouses of Bryggen. Walk around the harbour and nearby streets to see how the city occupies the narrow space between sea and hills.
Founded as a royal settlement in the 11th century, Bergen became a major Hanseatic trading port. Bryggen recalls the German merchants who handled stockfish and other goods along North Sea and Baltic routes.
Hardangervidda Plateau Crossing
Travel across Hardangervidda, one of Europe’s largest mountain plateaus, on a scenic route linking Norway’s western fjords with its inland valleys. Watch for open moorland, scattered lakes and distant peaks.
The broad, exposed terrain contrasts sharply with the steep-sided fjords. This landscape-focused crossing offers a sense of the scale and variety of southern Norway’s high country, with changing views from the road.
Oslo City Tour & Vigeland Sculptures
Explore Oslo with a Local Expert, viewing the Royal Palace, Akershus fortress and civic landmarks around Karl Johans gate. See the Opera House and regenerated Bjørvika waterfront, where cultural buildings now occupy former docklands.
Visit Frogner Park’s Vigeland installation to encounter more than 200 bronze and granite sculptures arranged across bridges and terraces. Together, the historic centre, modern harbour and monumental outdoor art reveal different expressions of Norway’s capital.
Oslo Farewell Dinner
Join your small group and Travel Director for dinner in Oslo to mark your shared journey through Scandinavia. Raise a toast and exchange favourite memories from the cities, villages and fjord landscapes.
This hosted gathering is a chance to reconnect with fellow travellers around the table. Its distinctive feature is the company and conversation: a shared close to a small-group experience rather than an independent restaurant meal.
North Zealand Castles Excursion
Explore the castles of North Zealand on an optional excursion into the countryside north of Copenhagen. Discover a region where royal residences sit among coastal and rural landscapes, offering a different perspective on Denmark beyond the capital.
The itinerary does not name specific castles or confirm interior entry, so the precise visits should be checked with your Travel Director. This experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
Trollstigen Mountain Road Experience
Travel the Trollstigen mountain road on an optional excursion from the Geiranger area. Its tightly engineered hairpin bends climb through dramatic mountain scenery, with waterfalls and viewing platforms along the route.
The road’s design makes the ascent part of the experience, revealing how transport routes negotiate Norway’s steep terrain. This excursion is at additional cost and bookable on tour; its operation may depend on road and weather conditions.
Bergen KODE Museums & Mount Fløyen
Visit Bergen’s KODE art museums on an optional excursion combining the city’s cultural collections with a ride on the Fløibanen funicular up Mount Fløyen. From the summit, take in views across Bergen, its harbour and surrounding landscape.
The pairing lets you compare the city’s artistic heritage with its striking setting between hills and sea. This experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
