Whilst we have taken every measure to ensure that those who are less mobile would still have an enjoyable and inclusive tour, it is important that guests are made aware that there may be some areas such as exploring caves, pathways down to beaches and wading out into water at the oyster farm that they may make access difficult. We do not recommend this tour for those who are wheelchair bound.

Knappstein Wines Cellar-Door Tasting
Taste wines at Knappstein Wines in the Clare Valley, one of Australia’s oldest wine regions. Visit the cellar door to sample local wines, including the Riesling for which the region is particularly well known.
The Clare Valley’s warm days and cool nights help produce Rieslings prized for their citrus character and freshness. This tasting offers an introduction to South Australian winemaking through a producer rooted in the region.
Welcome Dinner in Port Augusta
Meet your Travel Director and fellow travellers over a hosted welcome dinner in Port Augusta. Share a meal and get acquainted with the small group before exploring more of the Eyre Peninsula together.
Set beside the upper reaches of Spencer Gulf, Port Augusta has long been a gateway to South Australia’s outback and western coast. The dinner is a chance to hear different perspectives on the landscapes ahead and settle into the group.
Kimba Silo Art & the Big Galah
See Kimba’s painted silos and visit the town’s towering Big Galah, an eight-metre roadside landmark. The murals bring large-scale art to a working agricultural town, while the galah adds a playful Australian landmark to the stop.
Kimba sits amid the Eyre Peninsula’s grain-growing country. Together, its silos and familiar pink-and-grey bird offer two different expressions of local identity: one shaped by farming, the other by the tradition of larger-than-life roadside sculpture.
Pildappa Rock
Visit Pildappa Rock, the great granite outcrop near Minnipa known for its sweeping, wave-like face. Take in the curved stone and its contrast with the surrounding red earth of the Eyre Peninsula.
Often called Wave Rock, Pildappa is part of an ancient granite formation dating back roughly 1.5 billion years. Its sculpted surface makes geological time unusually visible, turning a stop in this remote landscape into a close encounter with South Australia’s natural history.
Smoky Bay Oyster Farm Experience
Explore a working oyster farm experience at Smoky Bay and learn how local oysters are grown, graded and harvested. See the equipment used by producers before sharing freshly shucked oysters and wine in a working oyster shed.
Sheltered coastal waters support an oyster industry closely tied to life on the western Eyre Peninsula. Meeting the people and practices behind the harvest gives this tasting a connection to place that goes well beyond the plate.
Streaky Bay Clifftops & Cape Bauer Scenic Drive
Take in the clifftops around Streaky Bay and explore the Cape Bauer Loop Scenic Drive, with visits to Whistling Rocks and the Blowholes. Look out across Hally’s Beach, where pale sand and open water meet the peninsula’s rugged shoreline.
At Cape Bauer, waves and air moving through coastal rock create the sounds and bursts that give the formations their names. These viewpoints reveal the exposed character of the Great Australian Bight coast.
Murphy’s Haystacks
Walk among Murphy’s Haystacks, a striking collection of granite pillars and rounded boulders rising from farmland near the Eyre Peninsula coast. Their varied shapes make the site rewarding to explore and photograph at close range.
Despite their name, these are not stacks built by farmers: they are ancient rocks gradually exposed and weathered over immense spans of time. Their setting makes the contrast between cultivated fields and the peninsula’s older geology especially clear.
Talia Caves Coastal Visit
Visit the Talia Caves coastline to see weathered rock formations framing the beach. Observe the textures shaped by the sea and the meeting of pale coastal rock, sand and Southern Ocean water.
This stretch of western Eyre Peninsula coast is defined by exposure to wind and surf. The formations offer a close-up view of those forces at work, while the wider shoreline gives a sense of the scale and remoteness of the Great Australian Bight.
Elliston Coastal Trail at Little Bay
Walk a section of the Elliston Coastal Trail at Little Bay, stretching your legs amid windswept scenery. Take in the coastal views on foot, with time to notice the changing shapes and colours of the shore.
Walking brings a different perspective to this remote part of the Eyre Peninsula than a roadside lookout can offer. The trail’s open setting puts the rugged edge of South Australia’s western coastline at the centre of the experience.
Wild Yarnbala Nature & Bush Tucker Experience
Explore Wild Yarnbala’s off-grid orchards and gardens near Coffin Bay on a MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® Experience. Taste bush tucker, learn about water divining and pick botanicals used to infuse the gin you sample.
Listen to didgeridoo and lap steel guitar as your hosts share a creative connection to the land and its produce. This intimate tour brings together local flavours, music and the practical choices behind an off-grid property.
Coffin Bay Oyster Farm & Seafood Platter
Wade into Coffin Bay’s calm waters in waterproof waders to tour an oyster farm. Learn about the prized local oysters, try freshly shucked shellfish and enjoy a seafood platter on a deck overlooking the bay.
Coffin Bay’s sheltered, nutrient-rich waters have made oyster farming part of the area’s identity. Seeing the farm from the water connects the distinctive taste of its oysters to the marine environment in which they grow.
Guided Port Lincoln Tour
Get to know Port Lincoln on a guided tour of this waterfront city at the southern end of the Eyre Peninsula. Gain your bearings and see how the town sits between Spencer Gulf and the surrounding coastal landscape.
Port Lincoln is closely associated with South Australia’s seafood industry, giving its harbour a strong working identity as well as a scenic setting. A local orientation adds context to the city and its place in peninsula life.
Farewell Group Dinner in Adelaide
Gather with your Travel Director and fellow travellers for a farewell dinner at your Adelaide hotel. Share a final meal as a group and reflect on the people, landscapes and local producers encountered across the Eyre Peninsula.
This hosted dinner gives the small group a dedicated occasion to exchange favourite moments, from granite formations and Bight coastline to oyster farms and cellar doors. It is a social close to the journey rather than an unstructured evening meal.
Adelaide Historic Guided Walking Tour
Join a guided historic walk through Adelaide to explore the story behind South Australia’s capital. See the city at street level and learn how its planned layout and public spaces shaped the place visitors encounter today.
Founded in the 1830s and laid out around a grid of streets and parklands, Adelaide rewards closer attention to its architecture and civic spaces. This optional experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
National Wine Centre Blending Master Class
Craft your own wine blend in a master class at Adelaide’s National Wine Centre. Experiment with the decisions involved in blending and discover how different components can change a wine’s balance and character.
Located beside Adelaide’s Botanic Gardens, the centre is dedicated to Australian wine and its makers. This hands-on session offers a different perspective from a cellar-door tasting by putting the blending process in your hands. It is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
