Additional information

Take the plunge with an introductory dive led by a qualified instructor—no prior experience needed. Learn the basics on deck, then descend to shallow coral bommies where anemones, clownfish and waving soft corals appear at arm’s length while you breathe steadily and watch silver schools shimmer past.

This optional experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour. Participation is subject to a medical questionnaire and minimum age; depth and bottom time are carefully controlled for comfort. It’s a calm, confidence-building way to meet the reef’s residents eye to eye.

Certified divers can join guided boat dives to explore walls, swim-throughs and cleaning stations where fusiliers, sweetlips and inquisitive trevally circle. Expect close looks at giant clams, coral canyons and the quick silhouettes of whitetip reef sharks along sandy channels when currents are kind.

This optional experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour; bring proof of certification and logbook. Dive leaders match sites to conditions and experience, with thorough briefings on entry techniques, navigation and local marine life to maximise bottom time and safe, unhurried exploration.

Switch on your torch for a night dive that reveals the reef’s secret shift change. Watch coral polyps feed as parrotfish doze in gossamer cocoons, while hunting trevally patrol the beam and tiny crustaceans sparkle like bioluminescent confetti in the dark water.

This optional experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour for certified divers only, and operates when conditions permit. Briefings cover light signals, buddy procedures and nocturnal species behaviour, transforming familiar daytime contours into a moody, otherworldly seascape.

Slip into warm, crystalline water to join guided snorkelling sessions over technicolour coral gardens. Drift above staghorn thickets and giant clams while schools of parrotfish flash by; with luck, a gentle green turtle or sleek reef shark glides through the blue. All your snorkel gear is provided and fitted by the crew.

Sites off Cairns are selected for visibility and marine diversity, with coral bommies rising like sculptures from sandy lagoons. Briefings emphasise reef-safe practices and relaxed buoyancy so you can admire swaying soft corals, feather stars and rays without disturbing this intricate ecosystem.

Settle in on a dedicated liveaboard as you cruise the Coral Sea from Cairns (Gimuy) to the World Heritage-listed Great Barrier Reef. Your floating base anchors at carefully chosen outer reef sites prized for coral health and clear visibility, placing tropical water and turquoise bommies just a few fin-kicks from the transom.

Experience the scale of the planet’s largest coral system, a mosaic of cays, lagoons and coral gardens shaped by tides and trade winds. Skippers adjust moorings for the day’s conditions, offering sheltered platforms for water entry and unrushed time to watch reef life in its natural rhythm.
