ski austria retro weekender | winter | 2026/2027 route map

Welcome to the snow globe. The next 5 days will be all about retro fits, throwback tracks and carving it up in proper old-school style. Jump on the Wörgl pick-up or make your own way to Haus Schöneck — where you’ll meet your new crew and get settled in. Tonight will be all about sorting your gear, locking in the vibe and getting ready for a week that’s equal parts ski trip and retro fever dream.

Over the next few days, Hopfgarten will lean fully into Retro Week, with vintage looks, live music on the mountain and throwback energy everywhere you turn. You’ll ski, explore, take a lesson or just soak it all in by day — then bring out the retro fits as the whole resort turns the nostalgia all the way up. The big one? Day 3, when Retro Ski Day will take over town with live acts, loud colours and huge feel-good mountain energy.

Opt into the Half Board dinner option for homestyle comfort after the slopes. Expect hearty Tyrolean dishes like speck-knodel soup, roasts, and mountain-worthy carbs served in a friendly dining room designed for easy, sociable evenings.

This is an optional extra at additional cost, bookable on tour. Enjoy two courses on select nights, with another evening left free to explore village eateries—perfect balance between cozy routine and local discovery.

Follow the sound of on-piste DJ sets as Retro Week brings throwback grooves to sun terraces across Hopfgarten and Itter. Ski in, unclip, and soak up the alpine buzz while vinyl-era beats meet modern sound systems against a backdrop of snowy ridgelines.

Expect classic hits reworked for sun-terrace après, colorful outfits, and friendly crowds drifting between huts. With the Wilder Kaiser massif on the horizon, it’s a playful soundtrack to your ski day that keeps the energy high from first lift to last light.

Join a guided mountain orientation to get the lay of the land across the vast SkiWelt Wilder Kaiser – Brixental. A local guide leads you along confidence-building blue and scenic red runs linking Hopfgarten with neighboring valleys, sharing insider pointers on the best lines and viewpoints.

Trace long cruisers beneath spruce forests, learn safe route choices, and aim for panoramas toward the Hohe Salve. There’s time to pause for photos and reflection while tapping into practical tips that make the rest of your ski days smoother and more rewarding.

Dial up the nostalgia at our exclusive themed party inside Bar Schoneck. Lean into retro outfits, swap slope stories with your crew, and move to a feel-good playlist that spins disco classics alongside alpine crowd-pleasers.

Between tracks, sample regional schnapps and toast the Tyrolean spirit in a cozy wood-and-stone setting. The vibe is friendly and unpretentious, pairing lodge warmth with dance-floor energy so you can end a powder-filled day on a high.

Slip into recovery mode and unwind in the sauna at Haus Schoneck (open 4–9 PM). The gentle heat soothes tired legs after long descents, while the quiet setting resets your senses for another round of corduroy mornings and lively après.

Embrace the Nordic-meets-Tyrol ritual: cool down, sip water, repeat. The soothing heat and calm atmosphere are the perfect counterbalance to high-tempo ski days and retro-charged nights, leaving you rested and ready for more mountain time.

Secure your SkiWelt lift pass and convenient equipment hire through the team on arrival. With over 270 km of pistes, 70 lifts, and dozens of welcoming huts, SkiWelt serves everything from mellow blues to sweeping valley runs right from Hopfgarten.

This is an optional extra at additional cost, bookable on tour. Choose skis or a board, get professionally fitted, and head straight for the slopes that suit your style—no time lost, maximum mountain gained.

Build confidence or sharpen skills with the area’s trusted instructors. Book a private lesson to focus on your goals, or request small-group coaching when available. Expect clear drills that help you refine your carving technique, control speed, and read terrain more fluently.

This is an optional extra at additional cost, bookable on tour. The local ski school has decades of experience across SkiWelt’s varied pistes, tailoring sessions for first-timers through advanced riders seeking more dynamic turns.

Celebrate Retro Ski Day as the entire SkiWelt slips into neon nostalgia. Carve between Hopfgarten and Itter in vintage fits while terrace stages pump live acts and feel-good beats. Expect bright one-pieces, mirrored sunnies, and impromptu dance breaks right on the snow.

Glide past fir forests and long valley runs, aiming for views toward the Hohe Salve summit. It’s a festival on skis, where you’ll pause for photos and reflection as the mountains glow in afternoon light. This headline celebration often lands around day 3 during Retro Week.
