Explore Kom Ombo, the rare double temple of Sobek and Horus, mirrored sanctuaries reflecting divine balance beside the Nile. Reliefs of surgical instruments, Nilometers, and priestly processions animate colonnades cooled by the river breeze.

Nearby, the Crocodile Museum displays mummified reptiles and votive offerings that reveal the reverence—and fear—of the crocodile god in a land where the river dictated life, trade, and belief.

Join the chef for an engaging cooking demonstration showcasing regional techniques—spice blends, tahini-based salads, and freshly baked breads—before tasting the results together. As sails furl for the night, gather for a farewell dinner under the stars on deck.

Between fragrant herbs and warm conversation, this culinary finale distils the journey’s essence: generous flavours, river calm, and regional recipes tied to field, market, and tradition.

Toast your journey at a refined welcome reception, meeting your Signature Guide and fellow travellers as Cairo’s skyline shimmers beyond. Settle into the mood of the trip with dinner overlooking the Nile, where lantern glow and river breeze frame the evening.

Hear your guide outline the days ahead and Egypt’s unfolding story, from Old Kingdom pyramids to Theban temples. This convivial start sets a warm tone—elevated hospitality, thoughtful pacing, and time to connect before the discoveries to come.

Explore the vast Grand Egyptian Museum with your Egyptologist, tracing royal power through exquisite statuary and the treasures of Tutankhamun. Continue to the Giza Plateau for close-up time at the Sphinx before you step inside Khufu’s Pyramid, experiencing the ascending passages and hushed King’s Chamber.

Context brings the stones alive: Old Kingdom engineering, solar cults, and dynastic ambition. With smart routing and private vehicle transfers on-site, you savour the icons without the crush—pyramids, desert horizon, and the scale that shaped world history.

Ride deep into the Fayoum’s Western Desert on a guided 4×4 desert journey to Wadi Al-Hitan (Valley of the Whales). Walk boardwalk trails among 40-million-year-old fossils of Basilosaurus and Dorudon, their vertebrae and ribs emerging from ochre sands under an immense sky.

A UNESCO World Heritage Site, this open-air museum reveals when Egypt lay beneath an ancient sea. Wind-carved dunes, absolute silence, and scientific interpretation combine for a contemplative encounter with deep time and shifting continents.

Visit the Ptolemaic Temple of Hathor at Dendera, famed for its painted astronomical ceilings and crypts inscribed with ritual scenes. Later, absorb the glow as evening light washes over Luxor Temple at dusk, its colonnades turning honey-gold beside the river.

From Cleopatra’s cartouches to the restored blues of the zodiac ceiling, Dendera encapsulates temple cosmology. In Luxor, pharaonic processions once linked this sanctuary to Karnak along the Avenue of Sphinxes, a sacred axis you can still trace in stone.

Cross to Thebes’ necropolis to explore the Valley of the Kings, where painted corridors descend to royal chambers. Continue to Medinet Habu, the mortuary temple of Ramesses III, its colossal pylons framing brilliantly preserved reliefs. Conclude at Howard Carter’s House, preserved in the aura of 1922 discovery.

Vivid pigments, chisel marks, and expedition artefacts evoke personalities behind the monuments. Hear stories of artisans, pharaohs, and the diggers whose field notes and patience revealed a golden age of Egyptology to the world.

Sail the Nile on your private dahabiya, where twin lateen sails and shaded decks set an unhurried rhythm. Moor at quiet banks, watch farmers tend date palms, and let the river’s soft current shape the day between temples and villages.

This intimate style of travel recalls the 19th-century golden age, without the crowds. Attentive crew, freshly prepared meals, and quiet river moorings create space for conversation, star-gazing, and the timeless scenery that inspired poets and explorers alike.

Walk the desert edge at El Kab, an early capital guarded by vast ancient mud-brick walls. Step into painted rock-cut tombs, where officials recorded river scenes and ritual offerings in lively colour beneath a rugged escarpment.

Shrines to the vulture goddess Nekhbet and inscriptions scratched by pilgrims chart millennia of devotion. The site’s silence amplifies the artistry—fine brushwork, hieroglyphic grace—and the continuing dialogue between desert, river, and faith.

Enter the monumental Temple of Horus through soaring towering pylons into hypostyle halls dense with Ptolemaic art. Trace scenes of festival barges and ritual combat as the sacred falcon god’s story unfolds across shadowed reliefs and sunlit courtyards.

Among Egypt’s best-preserved sanctuaries, Edfu illuminates priestly life and temple economics. Incised texts, astronomical ceilings, and a recovered barque shrine bridge myth and daily practice, offering a complete portrait of faith under Greek-Egyptian rule.

Gather on the riverbank for a moonlit barbecue, with low lanterns, softly lapping water, and stars overhead. Freshly grilled meats and seasonal salads pair with warm flatbreads as conversations unwind by the shoreline.
