Trafalgar

Explore Copenhagen with a Local Specialist, viewing the Amalienborg Palace Quarter, Christiansborg Palace and colourful Nyhavn. See the harbourfront Little Mermaid statue, inspired by Hans Christian Andersen’s tale.

Amalienborg’s four 18th-century palaces frame a square centred on a statue of King Frederik V. Along the waterfront, royal landmarks and old trading streets reveal the city’s blend of maritime history and Danish civic life.

Discover historic Odense, the Danish city where Hans Christian Andersen was born. Take in its old streets and the setting that helped shape the storyteller behind The Little Mermaid and The Ugly Duckling.

On the island of Funen, Odense pairs a long urban history with an enduring literary identity. Its historic centre offers a chance to connect the familiar fairy tales with the real place Andersen called home, without a museum visit being part of this experience.

Explore Bergen with your Travel Director on an orientation tour of its historic harbour. Pass the 13th-century Haakon’s Hall, see the lively fish market and admire the painted wooden facades of the Bryggen Quarter.

Bryggen preserves the character of Bergen’s centuries as a centre of Hanseatic trade. Its narrow passages and timber buildings speak to the merchants and seafarers who made this sheltered Norwegian port a gateway to the wider world.

Visit Øvre-Eide farm near Bergen for a locally hosted Be My Guest dinner with the family who works it. Share a meal in a working-farm setting and hear about rural life in western Norway.

The farm has been in operation since the 1500s and is now tended by the fifth-generation Øvre-Eide family. Their welcome offers a personal perspective on the traditions and day-to-day work behind the region’s agricultural landscape.

Ride the Flåm Railway through the Flåm Valley, watching steep mountainsides, rushing water and the Kjosfossen Falls come into view from the train. This included rail journey brings Norway’s dramatic western terrain close to your window.

Built to link the fjord-side village of Flåm with the mountain railway at Myrdal, the line climbs sharply through a landscape that once made rail construction exceptionally demanding. Its tunnels and curves are as distinctive as the scenery they reveal.

Take in Geirangerfjord’s sheer cliffs and cascading waterfalls from its fjord-side setting. Time in Geiranger lets you appreciate the contrast between deep glacial water, green slopes and the high peaks enclosing this narrow inlet.

Part of a UNESCO World Heritage Site, Geirangerfjord is celebrated for the scale of its fjord landscape and its waterfalls. The included experience is time to explore and admire the surroundings; kayaking and boat outings are not specified as included.

Visit the 12th-century Lom Stave Church in the mountain village of Lom. Look for its carved dragon figures, runic inscriptions and painted details while learning about a distinctive form of medieval Norwegian timber construction.

Stave churches were built around upright wooden posts, or staves, at a time when Christian worship took root across Norway. Lom’s surviving church brings that craftsmanship into focus against the highland landscape near the Jotunheimen Mountains.

Join a Local Specialist to see Oslo’s Royal Palace, Opera House and Akershus Fortress on a city sightseeing tour. Visit Vigeland Sculpture Park to walk among Gustav Vigeland’s expressive figures.

Set within Frogner Park, the sculpture installation explores human relationships and the stages of life through works in bronze, granite and wrought iron. The tour also places Oslo’s medieval defences, royal heritage and contemporary waterfront architecture in view.

Explore Stockholm with a Local Specialist on a panoramic city tour and visit to City Hall. See the medieval Storkyrkan, Riddarholm Church and Royal Palace around the historic Old Town.

Built of red brick beside Lake Mälaren, Stockholm City Hall is closely associated with the annual Nobel Prize banquet. Across the surrounding islands, church spires and palace facades show how the Swedish capital grew around the waterways that still define its character.

Explore Dragør’s winding lanes and yellow-walled cottages on an optional visit from Copenhagen. This small coastal village offers a quieter view of Danish life, with thatched roofs and narrow streets close to the sea.

Dragør’s preserved old town reflects its fishing and maritime past, making it a contrast to the capital’s grand palaces and busy waterfront. This experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.

Travel through western Norway’s mountain scenery on an optional excursion to Trollstigen, the winding mountain road known for its steep slopes and tight bends. Look out across valleys and tumbling cascades in a landscape shaped by ice and water.

The road’s switchbacks make the journey a distinctive way to experience the region’s rugged geography, beyond the fjord-side setting of Geiranger. This experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.

Discover Gamla Stan, Stockholm’s atmospheric Old Town, on an optional experience. Explore the historic heart of the island capital, where narrow streets, old facades and public squares create a sense of the city’s medieval origins.

Gamla Stan grew around Stockholm’s early trading centre and remains a setting for the Royal Palace and centuries-old churches. Seeing its streets in the evening brings out a different character from a daytime panoramic tour. This experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
