Discover Stockholm with a Local Specialist on a panoramic tour and visit Stockholm City Hall. Its brick tower and waterside position make it one of the capital’s defining landmarks, while its ceremonial rooms host the annual Nobel Prize banquet.

See how the city spreads across islands and waterways, earning its affectionate nickname, “Beauty on the Water”. The City Hall visit gives a closer perspective on Swedish civic life and the traditions surrounding the Nobel celebrations.

Sail overnight across the Baltic Sea from Stockholm to Helsinki, travelling between two Nordic capitals by ferry. From the deck, take in the changing coastal scenery as the ship leaves Sweden’s island-studded capital behind.

The crossing is both an overnight journey and a chance to experience the region from the water. Wake on the approach to Finland, with Helsinki’s harbour marking a fitting arrival in a city whose character is closely connected to the sea.

Explore Helsinki with a Local Specialist, seeing the clean-lined architecture of Finlandia Hall alongside the Senate area and the colourful stalls of Market Square. The tour introduces Finland’s capital through its civic spaces and lively waterfront setting.

Designed by Finnish architect Alvar Aalto, Finlandia Hall reflects the city’s modern design heritage. Around the harbour, market activity offers a contrasting glimpse of everyday life and Helsinki’s longstanding connection to the Baltic Sea.

Connect with local hosts over a Be My Guest dinner in Jyväskylä, in the heart of Finnish Lakeland. Share a traditional meal and hear about rural life and the old farms of Finland in a setting centred on conversation.

Known as the “Athens of Finland” for its educational and cultural history, Jyväskylä offers a perspective beyond the country’s capital. Learn about local ways of life through the stories shared around the table.

Get to know Rovaniemi with your Travel Director on an orientation of the Lapland capital. View the Lumberjack Bridge, Rovaniemi Library and Lappia Hall, landmarks that reveal the city’s riverside setting and civic character.

The bridge recalls the region’s timber-working heritage, while the library and Lappia Hall are associated with architect Alvar Aalto’s designs for Rovaniemi. Together, these sights introduce a modern Arctic city shaped by its landscape and history.

Visit Santa Claus Village in Rovaniemi and meet its famous resident at the Arctic Circle. See Santa’s office and post office, where letters addressed to him arrive from around the world.

The village brings a Finnish Lapland tradition to life in a place closely associated with Christmas. Stand at the Arctic Circle and explore a destination that combines festive storytelling with the geography of Europe’s far north.

Walk through the boreal woods of Urho Kekkonen National Park near Saariselkä with Terhi, a local biologist guide. Listen for the details that distinguish this northern habitat and enjoy homemade berry muffins during the experience.

Hear about rare species and the pressures facing Arctic nature, including climate change, through a guide’s firsthand knowledge. The walk pairs time in the forest with a grounded look at conservation and sustainable practices in Finnish Lapland.

Visit the North Cape Visitor Centre and take in the cliffs at Nordkapp, reached from Honningsvåg on Norway’s Magerøya island. Look out over the open sea from a headland often described as the “Edge of the World”.

The exposed coastal setting conveys the scale and remoteness of the European Arctic. Changing light across the water and cliffs makes the viewpoint distinctive, particularly in the long northern evenings.

Get acquainted with Tromsø on an orientation of northern Norway’s largest city, set on the island of Tromsøya. Take in its urban setting against a backdrop of fjords and mountains.

Often called the “Gateway to the Arctic”, Tromsø has long served as a centre for northern travel and research. The orientation introduces a multicultural community whose everyday life is shaped by its far-northern location.

Discover Svolvær’s fishing-harbour setting amid the steep peaks and rugged coastline of the Lofoten Islands. See the harbour entrance watched over by Fiskerkona, the fisherman’s wife statue, with traditional cod-drying racks nearby.

The racks speak to Lofoten’s long dependence on the cod fishery. Look towards Svolværgeita, the town’s distinctive twin-peaked rock pinnacle, for another striking expression of the close relationship between this fishing community and its mountain landscape.

Take in northern Norway’s Arctic Circle landscapes as the route passes Saltfjellet-Svartisen and Junkerdal national parks. Watch for the region’s glaciers, mountain terrain and fjords from the road.

The journey also passes the “Blood Road”, a route built by prisoners during the Second World War. This stretch pairs far-northern scenery with a sobering reminder of the human history carried through it.

Explore Trondheim with your Travel Director on an orientation that takes in Market Square, its statue of Olav Tryggvason, the Old Town Bridge and Nidaros Cathedral. See how historic landmarks sit within Norway’s lively former capital.

The cathedral was built over the burial site of King Olav II, Norway’s patron saint, and remains an important pilgrimage destination. The bridge’s red portals and Trondheim’s colourful streets offer a contrasting glimpse of the city’s everyday character.

Stop in Lom to view its 12th-century stave church against the mountain landscape near Jotunheimen. Examine the timber construction and medieval detailing that distinguish this historic Norwegian landmark.

Stave churches are named for the upright wooden posts at the heart of their structure. See a surviving example of Norway’s medieval building tradition in a town that has long been a gateway to the surrounding high country.

Explore Lillehammer and learn about the town’s role as host of the 1994 Winter Olympics. The visit introduces a Norwegian destination whose sporting legacy remains closely linked to its identity.

Set in an inland landscape associated with winter recreation, Lillehammer provided the stage for one of the best-known Winter Games. Consider the lasting Olympic legacy while getting to know a town with a character beyond the capital cities.

Join your fellow travellers for a farewell dinner in Oslo. Share a final evening together in Norway’s capital, with time to exchange stories from the cities, Arctic landscapes and fjords explored across the journey.

This hosted meal is a chance to mark the end of the shared adventure rather than simply dine at the close of the day. Raise a toast to the journey and the connections made along the way.

Visit the fishing village of Dragør on an optional experience from Copenhagen. Wander its narrow lanes and see the small yellow-walled, thatched cottages that preserve the character of an older Danish coastal settlement.

Dragør offers a quieter contrast to the capital’s grand squares and busy streets. Its compact historic centre rewards a close look at traditional homes and village scale. This experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.

Cruise the Arctic waters off Honningsvåg on an optional outing among the craggy islands near Norway’s North Cape. Experience the coastline from sea level and look for wildlife in the habitats around the islands.

The boat offers a different perspective on Magerøya’s rugged shores and the waters that support life in the far north. Wildlife sightings depend on conditions and cannot be guaranteed. This experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.

Visit a husky farm near Alta on an optional experience and meet its Alaskan husky dogs. Learn about the animals up close while spending time in the Arctic surroundings of northern Norway.

Huskies have a strong association with travel across snow-covered northern landscapes, and a farm visit offers a closer look at the dogs behind that tradition. No sledding activity is specified for this visit. This experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.

Discover Trollstigen Road on an optional excursion from the Geiranger area. See the mountain route’s 11 hairpin bends as it climbs a steep slope through Norway’s dramatic western landscape.
