Explore the Highlands Motorsport Park Museum near Cromwell, where vehicles and motorsport displays offer a change of pace from Central Otago’s alpine scenery. The visit is designed to appeal to car enthusiasts and curious newcomers alike.

Look closely at the machines and the design details that make them distinctive. Set within a motorsport park, the museum gives the collection a fitting home without requiring any prior knowledge of racing.

View Ka Roimata o Hine Hukatere (Franz Josef Glacier) from a panoramic viewpoint on the West Coast. Take in the glacier’s mountain setting without a glacier walk or flight.

The glacier descends from the Southern Alps toward a region of temperate rainforest, a striking meeting of ice and green coastal landscape. Its appearance and the views available can vary with weather and changing glacier conditions.

Explore Wellington with your Travel Director and take a short stroll at Mount Victoria to a lookout with 360-degree views across the harbour and compact capital. It is a chance to get your bearings and meet your fellow travellers.

See how the city sits between steep green hills and the waterfront, giving Wellington its distinctive character. A welcome drink offers a relaxed opportunity to get acquainted with the group.

Cruise across Cook Strait from New Zealand’s North Island to its South Island, watching the coastline give way to open water. The crossing enters Queen Charlotte Sound, where wooded headlands frame a sheltered network of bays and inlets.

This is more than a point-to-point crossing: the approach offers a water-level view of Marlborough’s intricate coast. Spend time on deck taking in the contrast between the strait and the calmer sound.

Join a guided tour of the Omaka Aviation Heritage Centre in Blenheim, exploring its First and Second World War aircraft collections. The Knights of the Sky and Dangerous Skies exhibitions place historic aircraft and memorabilia within vividly staged scenes.

Displays crafted with the involvement of Weta Workshop bring the stories of early aviation and wartime flying into focus. The presentation makes the centre engaging whether you follow aircraft history closely or are encountering it for the first time.

Explore Christchurch on a city sightseeing tour and get to know the South Island’s largest city. Discover its blend of established streetscapes, green spaces and contemporary development.

Christchurch has continued to reshape itself following the earthquakes of 2010 and 2011. Seeing the city with your group gives context to that recovery and to the changing character of a place long known as the Garden City.

View the Church of the Good Shepherd beside the bright blue waters of Lake Tekapo. Set against the Mackenzie Basin’s mountain scenery, the small stone church is one of the region’s most recognisable sights.

Built in 1935, it was the basin’s first church and remains a place of worship. Its modest scale and lakeside setting invite a pause to take in both the building’s local history and the surrounding landscape.

Join Angie and Stan Taylor for afternoon tea at their lakeside home near Lake Tekapo. Watch Angie, known as the Pavlova Queen, demonstrate her baking and explain the friendly trans-Tasman debate over the dessert’s origins.

Stan shares stories from a lifetime spent farming in the region. This hosted visit pairs a much-loved New Zealand sweet with personal insight into life in the Mackenzie High Country.

Visit the Jones Family fruit stall in the Cromwell area to browse its fresh produce. The stop offers a close-up look at the fruit-growing tradition of Central Otago.

Cromwell’s dry summers and cool winters support the region’s orchards. Browse the displays and see the produce for which the district is known; any purchases are at your discretion.

Discover Arrowtown, a small Central Otago village shaped by the nineteenth-century gold rush. Its streets and historic buildings offer a different perspective on the region beyond its lakes and mountains.

Gold discoveries drew prospectors to the area in the 1860s, leaving a heritage that still defines Arrowtown’s character. Take in the village atmosphere and the setting beside the Arrow River.

Enjoy a burger at Fergburger, Queenstown’s much-talked-about burger shop. Choose your meal at leisure and experience the busy, informal atmosphere that has made the eatery a local landmark for visitors.

It is a distinctly casual taste of Queenstown, a town as well known for its lively streets as for its mountain setting. The burger is listed as a tour inclusion; any additional purchases are at your discretion.

Travel through Fiordland National Park, taking in rainforest, mountain ranges and the reflective waters of the Mirror Lakes. The route also passes through the Homer Tunnel, cut through rock beneath the surrounding peaks.

Fiordland forms part of the Te Wahipounamu World Heritage area, recognised for its dramatic landscapes and natural heritage. Conditions change quickly here: cloud, light and weather each bring a different character to the mountain scenery.

Spend the night aboard the Milford Mariner on Piopiotahi (Milford Sound). View waterfalls, rainforest and steep mountain walls from the decks, listen to the onboard nature guide, and explore the shoreline by kayak or tender boat.

The unhurried overnight cruise leaves time to watch for fur seals and seabirds and to experience the fiord in changing light. An onboard dinner and cooked breakfast are included as part of the cruise.

Visit Te Papa Tongarewa on Wellington’s waterfront to explore exhibitions on New Zealand’s people, cultures and natural environment. Its collections offer an opportunity to engage with Maori history and the stories that shape the country today.

This is a suggested independent visit, rather than part of the guided city tour. It is at additional cost and bookable on tour; check the applicable entrance fee and exhibition access with your Travel Director.

Explore Marlborough’s vineyards on an optional wine tour and discover the region best known for its Sauvignon Blanc. A visit among the vines offers a closer look at the landscape behind one of New Zealand’s most recognised wines.

Marlborough’s sunny conditions and coastal influence help give its wines their distinctive character. Tour details may vary; this experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour through your Travel Director.

Ride the Mail Boat through Queen Charlotte Sound as it delivers mail and supplies to residents around the sheltered waterways. Listen to commentary while the route reveals forested shores and small, water-access communities.

This working boat offers a different perspective from a conventional sightseeing cruise: its stops are part of everyday life in the sounds. Watch for wildlife along the way. The experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.

Take a high-speed jet boat ride during your time in Queenstown. The swift turns, spray and open-air views make this an active way to experience the area’s waters.

Jet boating has strong New Zealand roots, and Queenstown’s adventure culture makes it a natural place to try it. The operator and route are not specified in the tour itinerary. This experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.

Visit Kiwi Park in Queenstown to learn about native New Zealand birds, including the country’s namesake kiwi. Explore a dedicated wildlife setting rather than relying on a chance encounter in the wild.

Many native bird species are difficult to spot in their natural habitat, making a focused visit especially rewarding for wildlife enthusiasts. This independent experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.

Fly above Fox Glacier and Ka Roimata o Hine Hukatere (Franz Josef Glacier) for an aerial view of the Southern Alps’ icefields, ridgelines and valleys. The flight offers a broader perspective than a ground-level viewpoint.

Flights depend on suitable weather, and a glacier landing may be possible but is not guaranteed. The operator and exact route are not specified in the itinerary. This experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
