New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner, Classical Recital & Midnight Toast
Celebrate aboard with a New Year’s Eve gala dinner, a refined, multi-course feast paired with fine wines and a seasonal menu. Linger over conversation as the ship’s restaurant shimmers with candlelight and winter décor.
After dinner, enjoy a live classical music recital in the lounge before joining fellow travellers for a midnight toast with drinks and canapés. It’s an elegant, convivial start to the year on the Rhine.
Rhenish Folklore Show On Board
Enjoy a lively Rhenish folklore show in the ship’s lounge, where musicians and dancers bring the valley’s stories to life through song, humour and accordion-bright rhythms.
Hear refrains rooted in vine-covered hills and riverside villages as you tap along with regional music and dance. The convivial atmosphere turns the lounge into a cosy winter tavern afloat.
Cologne Old Town & Cathedral with Local Guide
Explore Cologne with a local expert, stepping inside Cologne Cathedral to admire its soaring twin spires, kaleidoscopic glass and the gilded Shrine of the Three Kings. Continue through the atmospheric old-town lanes and riverside squares.
Learn how this UNESCO World Heritage Site withstood wartime destruction and still anchors civic life. Roman traces, Romanesque churches and Kolsch-brewpub traditions create a richly layered cityscape beside the Rhine.
Rüdesheim Old Town Walking Tour
Explore Rudesheim’s crooked lanes on a guided walking tour, threading past half-timbered facades and wine taverns. See the lively Drosselgasse, the 15th-century Klunkhardshof, and riverside Bromserburg Castle.
Your guide reveals the town’s wine-growing heritage and Rhineland traditions that flourish even in winter. Between shops and courtyards, sense the warmth of candlelit Weinstuben; many visitors sample aromatic Rudesheimer Kaffee, infused with local Asbach brandy.
Frankfurt Old Town & Kaiserdom Guided Tour
Join a guided tour of Frankfurt’s contrasts, from the timbered houses of Romerberg to the steel-and-glass skyline along the Main. Stroll to the Kaiserdom (Imperial Cathedral) and the beloved Eiserner Steg footbridge.
Hear how emperors were elected and crowned at the cathedral, and how postwar reconstruction revived the Altstadt beside “Mainhattan.” River views frame photo stops, while stories braid trading wealth, Goethe-era culture and today’s cosmopolitan energy.
Koblenz Old Town Guided Walk at the Confluence
Discover Koblenz on a guided walk through lanes and squares shaped by two millennia. Stand at Deutsches Eck, the confluence of the Rhine and Moselle, with views to Ehrenbreitstein Fortress across the water.
Roman roots, Elector’s courts and Prussian ramparts surface in Jesuitplatz, Liebfrauenkirche and riverside promenades. Half-timbered fronts, slate roofs and pocket-sized fountains give the old town its Rhineland charm—ideal for photos and a sense of place.
Scenic Rhine Gorge Cruise to Rüdesheim
Cruise the storied Middle Rhine past slate cliffs, terraced vineyards and castle-topped bends toward Rudesheim. From lounge or deck, villages slip by as you cruise the Rhine Gorge, winter light catching stone ramparts and the mid-stream Pfalzgrafenstein.
Hear of sirens at Loreley Rock and why this is the UNESCO-listed Upper Middle Rhine Valley. The quieter season deepens the hush—ideal for photographs and reflection along misty riverbanks and vine-clad slopes.
