Learn how Buda and Pest blended Ottoman spa culture with Habsburg grandeur and elegant Art Nouveau to shape the city’s identity. In winter, steam curls from historic bathhouses and the riverfront’s stately skyline feels especially evocative from these storied vantage points.
New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner, Classical Recital & Midnight Toast

As midnight approaches, gather with fellow travellers for a sparkling midnight toast with canapés while the riverfront shimmers around you. Included in your cruise, this elegant celebration blends convivial company with the timeless charm of Central European music and shipboard tradition.
New Year’s Day Brunch & Winter Danube Scenic Sailing
Ease into the year with a leisurely New Year’s Day brunch as the ship continues a scenic winter sailing along the Danube. Floor-to-ceiling windows frame snow-dusted banks, church spires and quiet riverside villages drifting by in the soft winter light.
This is river cruising at its most tranquil, pairing unhurried dining with ever-changing views from your armchair. The contemplative pace invites conversation with fellow travellers and time to appreciate Europe’s storied waterway at rest between its grand capitals.
Budapest Evening Sailaway with Mulled Wine
Step out to the open deck to sip gluhwein on deck as the captain eases the ship past the illuminated Chain Bridge and Buda Castle. The Hungarian Parliament Building glows across the water, its reflection shimmering on the Danube’s dark mirror.
Budapest’s UNESCO-listed riverfront unfurls like a lit stage set from Gellért Hill to the Pest embankments. Crisp night air, the spice of mulled wine and the soft engine hum create a memorable farewell to one of Europe’s most dramatic cityscapes.
Hungarian Folklore Show on Board
Enjoy an onboard Hungarian folklore show featuring dancers in colourful traditional costumes and musicians on cimbalom and violins. Spirited rhythms and high-energy footwork bring the csárdás to life, turning the lounge into a lively celebration of regional culture.
Your host introduces the roots of these village traditions from the Great Hungarian Plain to Transdanubia, sharing tales of courtship, harvest and community. It’s an uplifting cultural finale that pairs perfectly with an evening drink and the camaraderie of new friends.
Vienna Panoramic Tour & Historic Centre
Join a guided panoramic tour along the grand Ringstrasse, seeing the State Opera, Parliament and Burgtheater, then stroll into the Innere Stadt to admire Saint Stephen’s Cathedral and refined boulevards lined with coffeehouses and boutiques.
Unpack imperial Vienna as your guide interprets the Hofburg complex, seat of the Habsburgs and home of the Spanish Riding School. Stories of Mozart and the Strauss dynasty evoke an era of salons and waltzes, while winter’s soft light flatters baroque facades and the city’s elegant architectural rhythm.
Schönbrunn Palace Audio-Guided Visit & Seasonal Market
Visit Schonbrunn Palace with an included audio guide to its lavish state apartments. Admire the Rococo flourish of the Great Gallery and Hall of Mirrors, glittering chandeliers and gilded stucco as courtly life unfolds room by room in one of Europe’s most atmospheric royal residences.
