Central London Orientation & Free Time
Arriving in the capital on day 1, the coach drops you in the heart of the city to enjoy a free afternoon. Set your own pace as you soak in the West End buzz, wander around Trafalgar Square and Covent Garden, or follow the river paths for views of the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben. You’ll have further time to explore on day 3 before departure, perfect for a last stroll or coffee stop.
London rewards curiosity: street performers in Covent Garden, bookstalls along the Thames, and the energy of Leicester Square and Piccadilly Circus. Use these windows to browse boutiques, sample classic pubs, or pause for photos and reflection on Westminster Bridge. Your Tour Manager will confirm drop-off points and meet times so you can range widely, then reconvene with ease.
Les Misérables Evening Performance (Grand Circle)
On day 1, head to Shaftesbury Avenue and take your seat for Les Misérables at the Sondheim Theatre. From the moment the orchestra swells and lights rise on the barricade, the gilded Edwardian auditorium wraps you in West End atmosphere. Your included Grand Circle ticket offers a sweeping view of the stage for the evening performance.
Inspired by Victor Hugo’s novel, the show charts redemption and hope against the Paris Uprising of 1832, carried by songs like “I Dreamed a Dream” and “One Day More”. The production’s kinetic staging and rousing ensemble numbers invite you to feel the surge of the chorus as the story builds to its stirring finale. After the curtain call, rejoin your coach for an easy ride back to the hotel.
Windsor Excursion & Town Time
After breakfast on day 2, travel to Windsor for a gentler rhythm. Explore handsome lanes of independent shops, amble the riverside by the River Thames, or stroll the Long Walk towards the Copper Horse, where views frame the town’s skyline. From many angles you can admire Windsor Castle crowning its chalk bluff.
Founded by William the Conqueror, Windsor Castle is the oldest and largest occupied castle in the world. Nearby, St George’s Chapel embodies late Gothic craft and the traditions of the Order of the Garter. Entry to castle interiors is optional and subject to opening times; use your free time as you wish—visit the chapel, cross the bridge towards Eton, or pause for photos and reflection in Alexandra Gardens—before returning to the coach.
New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner, Disco & Midnight Toast
Back at the hotel on day 2, dress for an evening of festive cheer. Settle in for a gala dinner and disco at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Heathrow Windsor, where a celebratory menu, lively music and friendly company set the tone. As the countdown begins, raise a toast with Buck’s Fizz at midnight to ring in the New Year.
The mood is warm and convivial—clinking glasses, laughter and familiar refrains of “Auld Lang Syne”. Between courses and dancing, step aside to savour the moment and the sense of shared celebration. It’s an easy, sociable way to welcome the New Year without leaving the comfort of your hotel, with everything thoughtfully arranged for a seamless night.
Les Misérables Ticket Upgrade (Subject to Availability)
Enhance your theatre night by choosing to upgrade your ticket for Les Misérables, moving closer to the action in the Stalls or Dress Circle for a more immersive view of the barricade scenes and character detail. This is an optional extra at additional cost, bookable on tour through your Tour Manager, and subject to live availability at the Sondheim Theatre.
An upgraded seat can heighten the nuance of performances—every expression, every harmony—during an evening that unfolds in a venue renamed in 2019 in honour of Stephen Sondheim. If you value proximity to the stage and a richer acoustic, this simple enhancement lets you feel the surge of the chorus and appreciate the production’s craft even more.
