Join a locally guided township tour for insight into life during apartheid and its continuing legacy in Cape Town. The experience includes lunch connected with the Amy Foundation, bringing a community perspective to the city’s history.

Listen to local voices as you learn about a chapter of South African life that cannot be understood through landmarks alone. This optional experience is at additional cost and is bookable on tour.

Meet your Trip Manager and fellow travellers over a walkabout dinner in Cape Town. This hosted introduction brings the group together over food and conversation, with the V&A Waterfront close to your base.

Settle into the Mother City as you hear what to expect from the journey. Cape Town’s working harbour, restaurants and mountain backdrop give this first gathering a distinctive sense of place.

Ride the cable car up Table Mountain for wide-ranging views over Cape Town, its coastline and the surrounding peaks. At the summit, take in the city’s setting between mountain and sea from this landmark above the Atlantic seaboard.

The mountain forms part of Table Mountain National Park and is known for its distinctive flat summit. Look out across the Cape Peninsula and see why this natural landmark is central to the city’s identity.

Experience the MTN Bushfire Festival at Malandela’s Farm in Eswatini, with festival passes included and three nights based at the campsite. Explore a programme of live music, theatre, talks, market stalls and an international food fair at your own pace.

Move between performances and cultural spaces as artists and audiences gather from across the region and beyond. The festival’s farm setting and on-site glamping make its creative atmosphere part of the stay, not just an evening event.

Cook alongside your fellow travellers in an optional, MasterChef-style Cape Town class. Prepare food together in a sociable setting with drinks and music, swapping the usual restaurant meal for a hands-on evening.

Share the results around the table and get to know the group through the activity itself. The class is designed as a participatory food experience rather than a demonstration. It is at additional cost and bookable on tour.

Sample wines in the Cape on an optional tasting with a view. Compare what is poured and take time to appreciate the landscape that surrounds one of South Africa’s established wine-producing regions.

The Western Cape’s wine tradition stretches back centuries, shaped by its Mediterranean climate and varied growing areas. Pair regional flavours with Cape scenery in an experience focused on tasting rather than simply passing through. It is at additional cost and bookable on tour.

Head into Kruger at sunrise on an optional game drive, when cooler temperatures and early light can bring different wildlife activity into view. Scan the bush carefully for predators, grazing animals and birds as the park wakes.

Experience the quiet of the morning bush with another opportunity for sightings beyond the included drives. Wildlife is never guaranteed, which makes each encounter its own moment. The sunrise safari is at additional cost and bookable on tour.

Return to the safari vehicles for an optional sunset game drive in Kruger National Park. Watch for the Big Five and other wildlife as the afternoon light changes across the bushveld.

Look for animals active towards dusk and enjoy another chance to observe the park beyond the included drives. Routes and sightings vary with wildlife movements, keeping the focus on careful observation rather than a checklist. This additional drive is at extra cost and bookable on tour.

Gather for a traditional South African braai at the Kruger camp, with barbecue-style cooking, local sides and desserts. Share a relaxed meal with the group in the park’s outdoor setting.

A braai is more than a way of cooking: it is a familiar social ritual built around the fire and conversation. Enjoy the camp atmosphere after dark while tasting a distinctly South African style of meal. This optional experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.

Stroll around the V&A Waterfront, Cape Town’s lively harbour precinct, and take in views of the docks, city and Table Mountain. This included experience offers a closer look at the waterfront beyond a passing glimpse from your accommodation.

Named for Queen Victoria and her son Alfred, the area remains a working harbour as well as a gathering place. Watch boats move through the harbour against one of Cape Town’s most recognisable backdrops.

Explore Cape Town’s key sights on a city tour taking in Bo-Kaap, the city centre and the V&A Waterfront. See how the harbour, streets and neighbourhoods reflect different chapters of the Mother City’s history.

Discover the colourful streets of Bo-Kaap, a neighbourhood closely associated with Cape Malay heritage, alongside the civic and commercial heart of the city. The tour gives context to Cape Town’s layered cultural landscape rather than leaving its landmarks as a collection of photo stops.

Search for wildlife on a sunset game drive through Kruger National Park. Keep binoculars ready as the vehicle travels through bushveld habitat towards the Lower Sabie area, watching for animals along the route.

Kruger is one of Africa’s best-known wildlife reserves and is home to elephants, lions, leopards, rhinos and buffalo, alongside many other species. Watch the light change over the savannah as daytime activity gives way to the sounds of the evening bush.

Stay inside Kruger National Park at an exclusive canvas-tent camp in the Lower Sabie area. Your tent has a mattress and linen, while a communal firepit offers a place to gather beneath the night sky.

The camp sits beside the Sabie River, where the nearby riverside restaurant provides a vantage point for watching animals that may come to drink. Listen for nocturnal wildlife and experience the rhythms of the park beyond a daytime game drive.

Meet a Kruger ranger and learn how the K9 Watchdog Project uses trained dogs in efforts to protect wildlife from poaching. Hear about the work behind conservation in one of South Africa’s most important protected areas.

This MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® experience looks beyond wildlife sightings to the people and practical measures involved in safeguarding the park. Discover the role of K9 teams and how traveller donations support their work.

Head back into Kruger National Park for an included game drive, scanning the landscape for wildlife that may have remained out of sight on earlier drives. Keep watch for rhinos, antelope, big cats and birdlife, knowing that every sighting is shaped by nature rather than a fixed route.

Take in Kruger’s changing scenery as the vehicle travels towards Crocodile Bridge. This final drive offers another chance to appreciate the scale and variety of the park’s bushveld.

Travel along Chapman’s Peak Drive, a coastal road carved into cliffs above the Atlantic, and continue towards Cape Point at the south-western reaches of the Cape Peninsula. Look out across rugged headlands, beaches and open ocean.

Explore the dramatic Cape Point landscape within Table Mountain National Park’s Cape of Good Hope section. This optional peninsula excursion is at additional cost and bookable on tour; it offers a scenic contrast to Cape Town’s urban sights.

Visit the African penguin colony at Boulders Beach near Simon’s Town. Watch the birds moving among the sheltered coves and granite boulders that give the beach its name, while keeping a respectful distance from the wildlife.

Observe an endangered species in its coastal habitat at one of the Cape Peninsula’s best-known wildlife sites. This optional stop is at additional cost and bookable on tour as part of the available Cape excursions.

Kayak near the Boulders Beach coastline for a different perspective on the sheltered waters around Simon’s Town and a chance to see African penguins in their marine environment. Sightings depend on where the birds choose to swim.

Experience the Cape coast from the water among granite-framed coves rather than viewing it only from shore. This optional activity is at additional cost and bookable on tour; kayaking is subject to suitable conditions.
