Cruise the calm waters on a one-hour boat safari to glide past hippo pods and watch the majestic African fish eagle swoop for its catch. Your guide helps spot cormorants, herons and kingfishers along the papyrus-fringed shores.

Set within the Great Rift Valley, freshwater Lake Naivasha offers a serene, water-level perspective on birdlife and grazing antelope at the water’s edge. The gentle pace and close vantage make this a photographic highlight and a soothing counterpoint to dusty game tracks.

Join a guided game drive in Lake Nakuru National Park, a compact reserve famed for its alkaline lake, escarpments and acacia forest. Search for endangered rhinos (black and white), Rothschild’s giraffe, buffalo and agile predators patrolling the shore.

When conditions allow, the lake’s margins tint pink with flamingo flocks, while viewpoints such as Baboon Cliff reveal sweeping Rift Valley panoramas. Birdlife is prolific; guides help decode calls, plumage and behaviour as you explore this biodiverse haven.

Join a guided game drive across Amboseli’s open savannah, renowned as the home of the African elephant. Watch large-tusked herds emerge from wetlands, scan for lion, cheetah and giraffe, and frame your photos with Mount Kilimanjaro rising beyond the plains.

Explore contrasting habitats—swamp-fed grasslands, acacia woodland and the dry lakebed of Amboseli—alive with more than 400 bird species. Expect dust devils, mirage-like light and time to pause for photos and reflection as your guide interprets tracks, behaviours and the park’s delicate water cycle.

Savour a relaxed bush lunch at the exclusive Rocky Hill site, set amid acacia-dotted plains with sweeping views to Mount Kilimanjaro. Dine al fresco as wildlife drifts across the horizon and the sounds of the bush replace the hum of the vehicle.

Embracing a classic East African safari tradition, this chef-prepared meal pairs fresh, flavourful dishes with immersive scenery. It’s a rare chance to linger in the landscape—unhurried, scenic and memorable—before returning to the wildlife-rich tracks of Amboseli.

Taste Nairobi’s legendary Carnivore Restaurant, where meats are roasted on Maasai swords over a glowing charcoal pit and carved at your table. Dip into house sauces and sides as skewers arrive in a lively, open-air setting.

Celebrating Kenya’s nyama choma tradition, the menu focuses on expertly grilled cuts alongside salads and accompaniments, with vegetarian selections available. It’s a convivial, flavour-forward stop that adds culinary depth to your overland journey between parks.

Traverse the Masai Mara National Reserve on morning and afternoon drives to join guided game drives among acacia-dotted plains. Track the Big Five, watch hyena clans at work and scan termite mounds and kopjes for stealthy cats.

Year-round resident wildlife thrives along the Mara River and rolling grasslands, with seasonal herds swelling during the Great Migration. Expect golden light, wide horizons and time to compose images as the sun dips—an evocative sunset over the savannah.

Explore on foot with a guided gorge walk through Hell’s Gate National Park, weaving beneath towering basalt cliffs, past sculpted canyons and geothermal steam vents. Look up to Fischer’s Tower and listen for rock hyrax among sun-warmed ledges.

This dramatic Rift Valley landscape showcases volcanic history and hardy flora adapted to heat and mineral-rich soils. Select departures from 2027 include this experience; guides share geology, local lore and safe hiking routes through the otherworldly terrain.

Visit a Maasai village to meet a village elder, learn about homestead design and beadwork, and, where invited, join the rhythmic adumu jumping dance. Hear how cattle, seasonal movement and age-set traditions shape daily life.

This respectful cultural encounter offers insight into a famed pastoral community and supports local initiatives through your visit. This experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour; availability may vary and participation is voluntary.
