Maasai Mara Game Drives
Explore the Maasai Mara National Reserve on included game drives, with opportunities to search for wildlife in the morning and later in the day. Scan its rolling grasslands for lions, cheetahs, elephants, zebras and other animals from your safari vehicle.
The Mara’s open plains make distant movement easier to spot, while changing light brings new photographic possibilities. At certain times of year, the Great Migration may bring vast herds of wildebeest and zebra through the reserve, though sightings depend on nature.
Mirror of Hope Foundation Visit, Nairobi
Visit the Mirror of Hope Foundation in Kibera and meet people involved in its community work. Learn how its education initiatives and support for women and children aim to improve opportunities for local families.
This hosted visit offers a perspective on Nairobi beyond its safari gateways. Hearing directly about the foundation’s work gives context to the challenges residents face and the locally led efforts to create change.
Nairobi National Park Game Drive
Search for wildlife on a game drive through Nairobi National Park, where open grassland and waterholes sit close to Kenya’s capital. Watch for grazing animals, birdlife and, with luck, rhinos as your safari vehicle crosses this unusual protected landscape.
Few national parks offer such a striking contrast between wildlife habitat and a city skyline. Sightings can never be guaranteed, but the park gives you a distinctive chance to observe animals against the backdrop of modern Nairobi.
Amboseli National Park Game Drives
Explore Amboseli National Park on included game drives, looking for its celebrated elephant herds and other wildlife across the open plains. The park’s low vegetation creates broad views, with the possibility of Mount Kilimanjaro rising behind the animals when conditions are clear.
Morning and afternoon drives offer different light and fresh chances to spot wildlife. Amboseli’s combination of elephants, expansive skies and Africa’s highest mountain makes it a particularly rewarding place for safari photography.
Arusha Artisan Social Enterprise Visit
Visit an Arusha social enterprise employing local artisans with disabilities and watch skilled makers at work. See crafts such as weaving, glassblowing, beading, papermaking and metalwork, each requiring a different set of tools and techniques.
The visit connects the finished objects with the people and practical skills behind them. It is an opportunity to learn how artisan employment supports livelihoods while experiencing a creative side of the city often missed on a safari route.
Tarangire National Park Full-Day Safari
Spend a full day exploring Tarangire National Park by safari vehicle, with a packed lunch allowing more time in the wildlife areas. Look for elephants among the park’s towering baobab trees, and keep watch for predators and other animals across its changing landscapes.
Tarangire is known for both its large mammals and its monumental trees, whose thick trunks are unmistakable on the skyline. An extended drive gives you time to observe wildlife behaviour rather than simply passing through.
Tanzanian Maasai Village Visit
Visit a Maasai village near Tarangire and meet local residents to learn about their customs and way of life. This organised visit creates space to ask questions and hear perspectives from people who live in the region.
Maasai communities have longstanding ties to the landscapes of northern Tanzania, with cultural practices shaped by family, community and pastoral traditions. The encounter offers human context for the safari region alongside its national parks and wildlife.
Mto wa Mbu Village & Market Visit
Walk through Mto wa Mbu village and its lively market, browsing stalls of fruit, colourful shukas and beaded jewellery. Learn about local crafts, including Makonde carving, and discover the food traditions associated with this diverse community.
Set near the Rift Valley’s safari routes, Mto wa Mbu brings everyday trade and craftsmanship into focus. There may be opportunities to sample local dishes or banana beer, offering a taste of the town beyond its market displays.
Serengeti Game Drives
Explore the Serengeti’s vast plains on included game drives, searching for grazing herds, predators and the smaller wildlife that shares this ecosystem. Multiple drives, including morning and later-day outings, offer different light and opportunities to observe animal activity.
The Serengeti is renowned for the Great Migration of wildebeest and zebra, although the herds’ location changes with the seasons and sightings are not guaranteed. Its seemingly unbroken grasslands make the scale of this Tanzanian wilderness palpable.
Ngorongoro Crater Wildlife Drive
Drive into the Ngorongoro Crater for included wildlife viewing within the floor of an ancient volcanic caldera. Watch for animals across its grassland and other habitats, where predators and prey occupy a remarkably concentrated landscape.
The crater’s steep rim frames one of East Africa’s most distinctive safari settings. Its enclosed geography creates sweeping views across the caldera floor, while every sighting offers a closer look at the relationships between wildlife and this protected environment.
Maasai-Led Village Visit near the Mara
Choose an optional visit to a Maasai village near the Maasai Mara, led by a Maasai warrior. Meet community members and gain a more personal introduction to local customs and daily life beyond the reserve’s wildlife trails.
The visit adds cultural perspective to a stay in Maasai country, where communities and conservation landscapes exist side by side. This experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour; ask your guide for availability and details.
Sheldrick Elephant Nursery Visit, Nairobi
Choose to visit the Sheldrick elephant rehabilitation nursery in Nairobi, where you can watch young elephants play and bathe while hearing about their care and recovery. The visit offers a close look at the work involved in helping orphaned elephants.
This optional experience is at additional cost and requires an advance ticket purchase through the Sheldrick website. It cannot be left until arrival to book on tour, so check the nursery’s current visitor arrangements before travelling.
Lake Manyara National Park Game Drive
Opt for a game drive in Lake Manyara National Park, exploring grassy floodplains and forest in search of wildlife and birdlife. The change in habitat offers a different viewing experience from the open plains elsewhere on this safari.
Lake Manyara is associated with tree-climbing lions, though seeing them cannot be guaranteed. This final wildlife outing is at additional cost and bookable on tour; confirm availability and pricing with your guide.
