Meet your Travel Director and fellow travellers over dinner in Amman, Jordan’s capital. Share a table and savour local flavours as you get to know the people travelling with you.

Amman’s dining culture brings people together over generous dishes and conversation. This hosted meal offers a welcoming introduction to Jordanian hospitality and a chance to ask your Travel Director about the places and traditions you will encounter.

Visit the Iraq Al-Amir Women’s Cooperative near Amman to meet local women and learn about the traditional handicrafts they create. See their work and gain insight into the skills and care behind each piece.

Run by women from the Wadi Al Seer area, the cooperative provides training and employment opportunities that support financial independence. This community-led cultural encounter connects Jordan’s craft traditions with the lives of the women sustaining them.

Explore Jerash with your Travel Director, entering this remarkably preserved Greco-Roman city through Hadrian’s Arch. Walk among the temples of Artemis and Zeus, look across the sweeping Oval Plaza, and follow the colonnaded Cardo Maximus.

Jerash flourished under Roman rule, and its streets still reveal the scale of a working ancient city. Listen at the Whispering Column and take in the stone-lined avenues and monumental ruins that make its history unusually tangible.

Enjoy an al fresco lunch at Beit Khairat Souf, where natural produce and family recipes bring local Jordanian cooking to the table. The café is hosted in a family home, giving the meal a personal, community-centred setting.

This women-owned enterprise creates opportunities for local women and works to strengthen their financial independence. Alongside the food, discover how a shared meal supports women’s livelihoods and preserves recipes passed between generations.

Take in the view from Mount Nebo, the Jordanian hilltop traditionally associated with Moses’ glimpse of the Promised Land. Survey the landscape stretching towards the Jordan Valley and the Dead Sea, with longer views possible when conditions are clear.

The site has drawn pilgrims for centuries and preserves remains from its early Christian past. Its combination of biblical tradition and wide-open scenery makes the viewpoint meaningful whether you come for its faith, history or landscape.

Visit St George’s Church in Madaba with your Travel Director to examine the sixth-century Madaba Map, a mosaic depiction of the Holy Land set into the church floor. Look closely at its cities, rivers and other details assembled from coloured stone.

One of the earliest surviving maps of the region, the mosaic offers a glimpse of how Byzantine-era makers understood their world. Madaba’s long association with mosaic craft gives this remarkable work a fitting home.

Share a farm-to-table lunch in Madaba prepared with fresh, locally sourced organic produce. Taste a meal shaped by seasonal ingredients and hear how your hosts work with nearby farmers.

The experience puts the people behind the food in focus: growers and cooks building a community of conscious producers. It is a chance to experience Jordanian food culture through its local ingredients, rather than simply stop for a meal.

Explore Shobak’s 12th-century Crusader fortress, perched on a rocky height beside the King’s Highway. Examine its defensive towers and Arabic inscriptions, and step inside to see the remains of the Crusader chapel and palace complex.

Shobak’s passages and commanding position reveal the strategic importance of this route through southern Jordan. The weathered stonework and desert views bring the fortress’s layered Crusader and later history into focus.

Walk through Petra’s narrow Siq with your Travel Director, between towering sandstone walls that open onto the rock-cut Treasury. Explore the ancient tombs and theatre within this UNESCO-listed city, whose monuments were carved into the cliffs by the Nabataeans.

Petra was once a major crossroads for regional trade. Its rose and ochre stone changes character with the light, while its monumental facades and water-carved gorge reveal both the artistry and ingenuity of its builders.

Experience a traditional Bedouin-style dinner at Ammarin Bedouin camp near Petra. Savour Jordanian flavours in a desert setting and spend time with local hosts amid the region’s rugged sandstone scenery.

Hospitality has an important place in Bedouin culture, where welcoming guests and sharing food create space for conversation. This hosted evening pairs local cuisine with a sense of place beyond Petra’s carved monuments.

Travel by jeep into Wadi Rum, a UNESCO-listed desert of red sand, sheer cliffs and striking rock formations. Take in the open landscape while learning about the area’s history and the Bedouin communities connected to it.

Known as the Valley of the Moon, Wadi Rum carries traces of human presence across many centuries. The safari brings you close to its vast sandstone scenery and the cultural stories held within it.

Try your hand at stone mosaic design in Aqaba, arranging small pieces to create a pattern of your own. This hands-on class introduces the patient craft behind an art form with deep roots in Jordan.

From Madaba’s historic mosaic floors to contemporary workshops, makers have used carefully placed stone to turn images into lasting works. Working on your own design offers a practical connection to Jordan’s mosaic tradition and the skill it requires.

Choose a guided sightseeing tour of Amman to visit the hilltop Citadel, the Roman Theatre and the Archaeological Museum. Look across the capital from its ancient heights and discover landmarks that trace the city’s long history.

The Citadel preserves remains from several eras, while the theatre recalls Roman Philadelphia, as Amman was once known. This included Insight Choice activity is one of two alternatives; travellers select it instead of the guided street-art walk.

Choose a guided walk through Amman’s street-art scene to see murals and graffiti that bring colour and contemporary expression to the capital’s neighbourhoods. Explore the city on foot while your guide introduces the work visible along the route.

Set against Amman’s pale stone buildings, street art offers a different way to engage with its urban culture. This included Insight Choice activity is one of two alternatives; travellers select it instead of the Citadel, Roman Theatre and museum tour.

Join your Travel Director and fellow travellers for dinner in Amman and share stories from your time exploring Jordan. This hosted gathering offers a chance to reconnect around the table over local flavours.

Conversation and shared food are central to Jordanian hospitality. With fellow travellers gathered together, the meal becomes more than a routine dinner: it is a convivial celebration of the journey and the places you have experienced.

Float in the mineral-rich waters of the Dead Sea, where the high salt content makes buoyancy feel almost effortless. Take in the stark shores and surrounding hills from one of the world’s most distinctive bodies of water.

Lying more than 400 metres below sea level, the Dead Sea borders Jordan at the lowest exposed land elevation on Earth. Its unusual sensation of weightlessness is the defining experience here; resort spa treatments are separate from the included float.

Visit Bethany Beyond the Jordan, a UNESCO World Heritage Site on the Jordan River traditionally identified as the place of Jesus’ baptism. Explore the carefully excavated site and discover its significance to Christian pilgrimage.

Archaeological remains and a longstanding tradition of worship give this riverside landscape a quiet historical depth. This optional experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour, offering a focused cultural and spiritual excursion during your stay by the Dead Sea.
