Cagliari Welcome Dinner
Meet your Travel Director and fellow small-group travellers over a welcome dinner in Cagliari, Sardinia’s sea-facing capital. It is an opportunity to get acquainted and hear more about the island’s distinctive places and traditions.
Cagliari’s food culture reflects a city shaped by Mediterranean trade and successive Roman, Pisan, Spanish and Savoy rule. Sharing a meal offers a relaxed introduction to the people travelling with you.
Cagliari Historic Districts & Landmarks
Explore Cagliari with a Local Specialist, moving between the hilltop lanes of Castello and the historic districts of Stampace and Marina. See the Bastion of Saint-Remy, visit the Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta and view the medieval Elephant Tower.
These streets reveal different layers of Sardinia’s capital, from fortified gateways to its working waterfront. The bastion’s terrace offers views across the city, while the Elephant Tower recalls the defences built during Pisan rule.
Su Nuraxi di Barumini Guided Visit
Step inside Su Nuraxi di Barumini, a UNESCO-listed archaeological complex in central Sardinia. Walk among its stone towers, narrow passages, courtyards and village remains with a guide who explains how its Bronze Age inhabitants lived and protected the settlement.
The site is an exceptional surviving example of Sardinia’s Nuragic civilisation. Its massive dry-stone construction brings the ingenuity and social life of the island’s ancient communities into focus.
Oristano’s Piazza Eleonora & Cathedral
Discover Piazza Eleonora, the civic heart of Oristano in western Sardinia. Take in its arcades, shops and landmarks, and view the city’s Cathedral of Santa Maria Assunta.
The square honours Eleonora d’Arborea, a medieval ruler whose name remains closely tied to Sardinian history. Oristano is also known for Sa Sartiglia, its long-established equestrian carnival, which reflects the city’s enduring local traditions.
Bosa Old Town & Traditional Lace-Making
Explore Bosa’s riverside old town, where colourful buildings line the Temo River and the Castle of Serravalle overlooks a maze of narrow streets. The village is recognised by I Borghi più Belli d’Italia for its historic character.
See local makers practise filet di Bosa, a fine form of lace-making and embroidery passed down through generations. The craft adds a human dimension to Bosa’s distinctive setting.
Alghero Old Town Walking Tour
Walk through Alghero with your Travel Director, following old-town lanes, small piazzas and the waterfront bastions. Look out across the sea from the walls that once guarded this north-western Sardinian port.
Alghero’s Catalan heritage remains visible in its language, architecture and food, giving the city a character unlike anywhere else on the island. Its coastal setting has earned this stretch of shore the name Coral Riviera.
Sardinian Wine Tasting
Taste indigenous Sardinian wines in Alghero and learn how the island’s climate, soils and farming traditions shape local varietals. Sample wines associated with grapes such as Vermentino and Cannonau.
From coastal vineyards to inland hills, Sardinia’s varied landscapes leave their mark on what is grown and poured. The tasting offers a flavour-led way to understand an important part of the island’s agricultural culture.
Castelsardo Hilltop Orientation
Explore Castelsardo’s fortified lanes above the Gulf of Asinara on an orientation of this northern Sardinian town. Take in its elevated coastal setting and browse shops and workshops displaying baskets, ceramics and other local crafts.
Handwoven basketry remains closely associated with Castelsardo. Its steep streets and craft traditions offer a glimpse of everyday life within a town shaped by its defensive position overlooking the sea.
Sardinian Farm Be My Guest Experience
Meet local hosts at a Sardinian farm for a Be My Guest experience centred on food, family and the land. Hear firsthand about rural traditions and share a locally hosted meal rooted in the island’s farming culture.
The visit brings you into conversation with the people who keep these practices alive. Local produce and hospitality offer a personal perspective on Sardinia beyond its historic towns and coastlines.
Bonifacio & Strait of Bonifacio Ferry Crossing
Cross the Strait of Bonifacio by ferry from Sardinia to Corsica, approaching a harbour beneath Bonifacio’s limestone cliffs. Spend time exploring this French island town independently, with its clifftop citadel, steep upper-town lanes and waterfront cafés.
Bonifacio’s dramatic cliffside setting distinguishes it from the Sardinian towns across the water. Choose between harbour views, the old town’s ramparts or a closer look at the staircase cut into the rock, the Escalier du Roy d’Aragon.
Monte Altura & Maddalena Archipelago Viewpoint
Pause near the Fortress of Monte Altura to take in views over Palau, the surrounding headland and the islands of the Maddalena Archipelago. The elevated position brings Sardinia’s granite coastline and clear-water channels into a single panorama.
The fortress recalls the strategic importance of this northern shore, while the archipelago forms one of its most distinctive seascapes. It is a chance to appreciate the geography connecting Sardinia with nearby Corsica.
San Teodoro Farewell Dinner
Gather with your small group for a farewell dinner in San Teodoro, a town on Sardinia’s north-east coast. Raise a glass with the travellers you have come to know while sharing a final evening together.
The hosted occasion offers time to reflect on the island’s ancient sites, craft traditions and coastal landscapes. Its focus is the shared experience of the journey, rather than a formal sightseeing visit.
