Additional information
Lake Louise Lakeside Walk
Walk beside Lake Louise and view its turquoise water beneath surrounding peaks and the Victoria Glacier. A forested approach opens onto one of Banff National Park’s most recognisable alpine scenes.
Fine rock particles carried by glacial meltwater help give the lake its distinctive colour. From the shore, you can take in the contrast between the still water, dark conifers and ice high above, with the historic lakeside hotel adding another layer to the setting.
Maligne Lake Cruise to Spirit Island
Cruise Maligne Lake on a narrated, seasonal boat trip to Spirit Island. View the small evergreen-covered island from the designated stopping area, framed by mountain slopes and glacial scenery.
The narration introduces the lake’s geology, wildlife and history, including the island’s significance to the Indigenous Stoney Nation. As Spirit Island is not reached by road and visitors do not walk on the island itself, the cruise provides a distinctive way to experience and photograph this part of Jasper National Park.

Vancouver Welcome Dinner
Meet your Travel Director and fellow travellers over dinner in Vancouver. It is a hosted introduction to the group and an opportunity to hear about the landscapes and communities that shape this Western Canada journey.
Vancouver sits between the Coast Mountains and the Pacific, giving the gathering a fitting setting for a tour spanning island gardens, mountain towns and the Canadian Rockies. The evening is about conversation and connection rather than formal sightseeing.
Vancouver Historic Neighbourhoods & Stanley Park Totem Poles
Explore Vancouver with your Travel Director, taking in Gastown’s Victorian-era streets before visiting Stanley Park’s totem pole display at Brockton Point. The contrast between the old commercial quarter and the park’s coastal woodland offers two distinct perspectives on the city.
At Brockton Point, view poles associated with Indigenous artistic traditions of the Pacific Northwest. The display has grown and changed since its earliest poles were installed in the park, making it a place to consider the region’s living cultures as well as Vancouver’s history.
Vancouver Island Ciderhouse Tour & Tasting
Tour a family-owned Vancouver Island ciderhouse and taste local ciders while looking out over its orchard. The visit offers a direct connection between the fruit grown here and the drinks produced from it.
Vancouver Island’s temperate coastal climate supports apple growing, and small-scale cider making has become part of its contemporary food culture. Sampling cider where it is made gives you a sense of the island’s agricultural landscape beyond its waterfront towns and gardens.
Victoria Waterfront Sightseeing
Discover Victoria’s Inner Harbour and view the British Columbia Parliament Buildings, a defining feature of the provincial capital’s waterfront. The harbour’s promenades, historic architecture and working waterway give the city its walkable character.
Completed in the late 19th century, the Parliament Buildings reflect Victoria’s role as the seat of provincial government. Their landscaped grounds and harbour setting provide a useful introduction to the city’s civic history and its longstanding connection to the sea.
Butchart Gardens Before-Hours Visit & Breakfast
Enjoy breakfast at Butchart Gardens before exploring its 55 acres ahead of the usual crowds. Walk among planted displays and discover the Sunken Garden, where flowers and paths now fill the former limestone quarry.
The gardens began taking shape in the early 20th century through Jennie Butchart’s transformation of the exhausted quarry. Their changing seasonal colours and carefully designed spaces make this more than a garden stroll: it is a century-old example of an industrial landscape remade for public enjoyment.
Chemainus Murals
View the outdoor murals of Chemainus, which turn buildings around this Vancouver Island town into a public art gallery. Their large-scale scenes offer an accessible way to encounter local stories while walking through the community.
The mural project began in 1981 and became central to Chemainus’s identity. Images of people, work and regional heritage give context to a town shaped by the island’s industries, while the streets themselves remain part of the experience rather than a backdrop to a conventional museum visit.
Sea-to-Sky Highway & Gondola
Take in the Sea-to-Sky Highway’s coastal mountain scenery and ride the Sea-to-Sky Gondola near Squamish. From Summit Lodge, look out across forested slopes, mountain peaks and the waters of Howe Sound.
The route links the coast with the alpine setting of Whistler, revealing how quickly Western Canada’s landscapes change. The gondola turns those roadside views into a high vantage point, where the meeting of sea, forest and mountains becomes easier to appreciate.
Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre
Visit the Squamish Lil’wat Cultural Centre in Whistler and hear directly from Indigenous Ambassadors. Explore artifacts and contemporary works as they share personal perspectives on the traditions and lives of the Squamish and Lil’wat peoples.
Created by the two Nations, the centre presents their distinct cultures in their own voices. Its exhibits and hosted interpretation connect longstanding knowledge with living practice, offering a more considered understanding of the people whose homelands encompass this mountain region.
Seton Lake Scenic Viewing
See Seton Lake against the mountain scenery of British Columbia’s interior. Its long stretch of water and surrounding slopes provide a striking change from the coastal landscapes elsewhere on the tour.
Seton Lake lies near Lillooet, where deep valleys and rugged peaks shape the terrain. Taking time to view the lake brings the scale of this landscape into focus, from the waterline to the high mountain ridges that frame it.
Glacier & Yoho National Parks Scenic Journey
Travel through Glacier National Park of Canada and Yoho National Park, viewing steep mountain terrain, forested valleys and the peaks of the Canadian Rockies from the route. This is scenic exploration from the road rather than a guided hike.
Glacier National Park protects a rugged section of the Columbia Mountains; Yoho forms part of the UNESCO-listed Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks. Together, their contrasting ranges show the immense geological scale of the corridor into Banff.
Golden Skybridge
Cross the Golden Skybridge and explore canyon-ridge walking trails with views towards the Rocky and Purcell mountain ranges. The elevated suspension bridges give you an open-air perspective on the valley, with a waterfall visible below.
Located near Golden, this visit is designed around the sensation of height as much as the scenery. Moving between the bridges and trails reveals different angles on the Columbia Valley, making it a more active viewpoint than a roadside photo stop.
Banff Town Tour, Bow Falls & Surprise Corner
Join an orientation tour of Banff, seeing its mountain-framed town centre and stopping at Bow Falls and Surprise Corner. These viewpoints reveal both the force of the Bow River and a memorable perspective across the valley.
Banff grew around the natural attractions of Canada’s first national park. Its historic townscape sits close to waterfalls, forest and mountain slopes, so the tour connects the community’s resort heritage with the landscape that continues to define it.
Meet a Retired Canadian Mountie
Meet a retired Canadian Mountie in Banff and hear firsthand stories about the Royal Canadian Mounted Police. The encounter includes the distinctive red serge uniform, a widely recognised symbol of the force.
Conversation brings greater depth to that familiar image, covering the Mounties’ history and traditions through the perspective of someone who served. It is an opportunity to ask questions and learn about an institution that has played a prominent, and sometimes complex, role in Canada’s history.
Icefields Parkway Scenic Drive
Travel the Icefields Parkway through the mountain wilderness between the Lake Louise and Jasper areas. Look for glacier-carved valleys, icefields, sharp peaks and waterfalls, with opportunities to take in the scenery from a viewpoint.
This celebrated route crosses the heart of the Canadian Rockies near the Continental Divide. Its appeal lies in the changing scale of the landscape: ice and rock rise above the road, while rivers and forested valleys trace the terrain below.
Jasper Indigenous Foraging & Be My Guest Dinner
Join host Matricia Bauer in Jasper for a Be My Guest experience rooted in Indigenous knowledge. Learn about local plants and their use in curated drink bitters, with a foraging walk and drumming performance described among the experience’s highlights.
Over dinner, listen to storytelling that connects ingredients, traditions and the surrounding land. The gathering offers a personal perspective on this region through your host’s knowledge and performance, rather than presenting its natural setting as scenery alone.
Mount Robson Viewing
View Mount Robson, the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, and hear your Travel Director’s perspective on this commanding mountain. Its summit rises to 3,954 metres above a landscape of forest and rugged valleys.
Part of the UNESCO-listed Canadian Rocky Mountain Parks, Mount Robson stands out for its height and prominence. A clear view reveals the immense vertical scale that makes it one of the Rockies’ defining sights, though mountain weather can change what is visible.
Victoria Whale-Watching Cruise
Head onto the water on a Victoria whale-watching cruise, scanning the Salish Sea for marine wildlife. Depending on conditions and sightings, you may see orcas or humpback whales, as well as seals, porpoises and bald eagles.
The waters around southern Vancouver Island support a rich coastal ecosystem, making the search itself part of the experience. Wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed. This optional experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
Banff Gondola Ride
Choose a gondola ride in Banff for elevated views of the mountain town and its surrounding peaks. The ascent offers a different perspective from the streets and river-level viewpoints included in the town tour.
Banff’s position within the Canadian Rockies makes height a rewarding way to read the landscape, from the valley floor to the ridgelines beyond. The gondola is offered as a choice during time at leisure; this optional experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
Capilano Suspension Bridge
Cross the Capilano Suspension Bridge near Vancouver, high above the Capilano River. From the swaying span, look into the forest canopy and towards the rushing water below.
The bridge offers a close encounter with the temperate rainforest of British Columbia’s south coast, contrasting with the alpine landscapes elsewhere on the tour. Its height and movement are central to the experience. This optional experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
