The drive offers an introduction to Paris’s monumental streetscape, while dinner gives the group a chance to get acquainted at the start of the holiday.
Paris Neighbourhoods with a Local Specialist
Explore Paris’s historic neighbourhoods with a Local Specialist, following streets and squares where Parisians live and shop. View Saint-Sulpice Church, whose imposing facade stands beside one of the Left Bank’s notable squares.
This guided introduction looks beyond the capital’s best-known monuments to its everyday surroundings, revealing the lanes, local character and architectural layers that give each neighbourhood its own identity.
Chartres Cathedral & Historic Town
Explore the historic town of Chartres and view Chartres Cathedral, a landmark of French Gothic architecture distinguished by its contrasting spires and celebrated stained glass. Its scale and sculpted exterior reflect the importance of this medieval religious centre.
Chartres has long welcomed pilgrims travelling towards Santiago de Compostela. Seeing the cathedral within the town places its artistry in the setting of a living pilgrimage tradition.
Loire Valley Scenic Drive & Château de Chambord
Travel through the Loire Valley’s rolling countryside, passing villages and châteaux before viewing the monumental Château de Chambord. Its intricate roofline of towers, chimneys and terraces makes it one of the region’s most recognisable sights.
Built for Francis I, Chambord expresses the ambition of the French Renaissance on a grand scale. This scenic experience pairs the château’s exterior with the river-valley landscape that made the Loire a favoured setting for royal residences.
Visit to Château de Chenonceau
Visit Château de Chenonceau, the Loire Valley château whose graceful gallery stretches across the River Cher. Explore a residence shaped by influential women, including Diane de Poitiers and Catherine de’ Medici, who left their mark on its design and history.
Often called the “Ladies’ Castle”, Chenonceau brings together Renaissance architecture, formal gardens and a river setting. Its rooms and grounds reveal a more intimate side of France’s château heritage.
Tourangelle Dinner with the de Montferrier Family
Join the de Montferrier family at their farm near Château de Villandry for a hosted, three-course Tourangelle dinner. Share the table with your fellow travellers and enjoy local wines alongside food rooted in the Loire Valley.
This Be My Guest experience offers a personal introduction to regional hospitality. Conversation in a family setting brings the agricultural traditions and flavours of Touraine closer than a conventional restaurant meal could.
Lyon Old Town & Fourvière Hill
Discover Lyon with a Local Specialist, walking through its historic centre and the traboules—passageways threaded between old buildings. Take in panoramic views from Fourvière hill across the city and its two rivers.
Lyon’s old streets reflect centuries of commerce, including its silk-weaving heritage. The contrast between enclosed passageways and the broad hilltop outlook gives this tour two distinct perspectives on France’s gastronomic capital.
Avignon Old Town & Papal Landmarks
Walk Avignon’s medieval streets and view the imposing Palais des Papes and the remains of the Pont d’Avignon. The old town’s lanes and squares retain the atmosphere of a city that once stood at the centre of Western Christianity.
Avignon was home to the papacy during the 14th century. Seeing its fortified palace and much-sung bridge from outside reveals how religious authority and Rhône River trade shaped this Provencal city.
Monaco Cathedral & Principality Sights

Arles Roman Amphitheatre
Discover Arles and view its Roman Amphitheatre, the great oval arena at the heart of the old city. Its stone arcades stand among honey-coloured streets and other traces of the town’s Roman past.
Built around the end of the first century, the amphitheatre speaks to Arles’s importance in Roman Gaul. Viewing it in the city centre shows how ancient monuments remain part of everyday life in this Provencal town.
Guided Exploration of Carcassonne
Explore Carcassonne’s fortified Cité with a Local Specialist, walking among its stone streets and formidable defences. See the double ring of ramparts and 52 towers that give the hilltop stronghold its unmistakable silhouette.
Its walls preserve layers of medieval history, though substantial restoration in the 19th century shaped the appearance visitors see today. A guided exploration helps make sense of this extraordinary fortified town and its commanding position above the surrounding plain.
Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres
Step inside the Dalí Theatre-Museum in Figueres to encounter Salvador Dalí’s imaginative world. Explore a building conceived as an artwork in its own right, filled with paintings, installations and visual surprises.
Created on the site of the town’s former theatre, the museum reflects Dalí’s deep connection to his birthplace. Its theatrical spaces and unconventional displays offer an unusually direct introduction to the artist’s humour, symbolism and surrealist vision.
