Traditional Lei Welcome in Honolulu
Receive a traditional Hawaiian lei greeting at your Travel Director’s Welcome Desk in Honolulu. The floral welcome offers a personal introduction to the islands and a chance to meet the person guiding your journey.
In Hawai?i, offering a lei expresses aloha, hospitality and respect. Its fragrance and colour make this simple ceremony a distinctly local beginning to your time in the islands.
Pearl Harbor & USS Arizona Memorial
Visit Pearl Harbor National Memorial in Honolulu, where exhibits at the visitor centre recount the attack of December 7, 1941, and the United States’ entry into World War II. A short boat ride takes you to the USS Arizona Memorial, positioned above the sunken battleship.
Pause at the final resting place of 1,102 sailors and Marines. The memorial’s quiet setting gives the historical accounts a powerful human dimension. USS Arizona access is subject to National Park Service ticket availability, with timing confirmed shortly before the visit.
National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific
See the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific within Honolulu’s Punchbowl crater. This solemn site honours members of the United States Armed Forces, including those who died during World War II, the Korean War and the Vietnam War.
The cemetery occupies an extinct volcanic crater known in Hawaiian as Puowaina. Its landscaped grounds and memorials offer a place to pause for reflection while considering the Pacific’s place in twentieth-century history.
Oahu Island Tour, Pali Lookout & Haleiwa
Explore Oahu on an island sightseeing tour that takes in the Pali Lookout, the Ko?olau cliffs and the rugged Windward Coast. From the lookout, gaze towards Kane?ohe Bay and the valley where Kamehameha I’s forces fought a decisive battle in 1795.
Discover the North Shore’s surf culture and visit Haleiwa, where plantation-era buildings, small boutiques and an easy-going artistic scene give the town its character. In winter, the nearby coast is known for exceptionally large waves.
Hawaiian Legacy Forest Eco-Tour & Farm-to-Table Lunch
Join a Local Expert for an eco-tour in a Hawaiian Legacy Forest on Oahu. Learn about the sacred ceremony associated with planting a native tree and how your visit supports restoration of the island’s ecosystem.
Enjoy an al fresco, sustainably sourced picnic lunch with views of the forest. The experience connects Hawaiian cultural practice with practical conservation: your visit supports the planting of a native tree and contributes to the protection of life on land.
Upcountry Maui Pineapple Farm Tour & Tasting
Tour one of Maui’s last working pineapple farms with a Local Expert. Learn how the fruit is grown, hear how plantations shaped island communities and taste sweet Maui Gold pineapple close to its source.
Hawai?i once produced much of the world’s pineapple, and the crop became an enduring symbol of the islands. This working-farm visit offers a closer look at the people, agricultural heritage and distinctive flavour behind that familiar image.
Maui Dine-Around Evening
Choose your own Maui dining experience from a selection of resort restaurants during an included Dine-Around evening. The options include the Wailele Luau, where Polynesian cuisine is paired with dance and storytelling, or a meal at another acclaimed resort restaurant.
The choice lets you shape the evening around either a hosted cultural performance or your preferred dining style. The luau option brings food, music and movement together in a celebration of Polynesian traditions.
Kona Coffee Plantation Tour & Tasting
Join a Local Expert to tour a Kona coffee plantation on the Island of Hawai?i. See organic coffee fields alongside native plants and fruit, learn how the crop is cultivated, and taste Kona coffee where it grows.
Kona’s coffee-growing district lies on the slopes of Hualalai and Mauna Loa, where volcanic soils and a distinctive climate help define the region’s prized beans. The visit connects the flavour in the cup with its island landscape.
Rainbow Falls
Visit Rainbow Falls in Wailuku River State Park near Hilo. Watch the approximately 80-foot cascade spill over a lava cave into a basin framed by lush vegetation; in favourable morning light, mist can produce the rainbows that give the falls their name.
Known in Hawaiian as Waianuenue, the falls are linked to stories of Hina, the moon goddess, who is said to have lived in the cave beneath them. It is a compact but richly storied natural landmark.
Big Island North Shore Helicopter Flight
Take an optional helicopter flight for sweeping aerial views over the Island of Hawai?i’s remote north shore. From above, appreciate the scale and contours of coastline that are difficult to take in from the ground.
The flight offers a different perspective on the Big Island’s volcanic terrain and ocean-facing cliffs, with views dependent on weather and the flight route. This experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
?Iao Valley State Park & ?Iao Needle
Visit ?Iao Valley State Park on Maui to see the ?Iao Needle, a green-mantled rock pinnacle rising approximately 1,200 feet above the valley floor. Take in the steep, lush landscape surrounding this distinctive island landmark.
The valley holds deep significance in Hawaiian history and was associated with the burial of chiefs. Its dramatic terrain also witnessed the 1790 Battle of Kepaniwai, making the visit an encounter with both Maui’s natural landscape and its past.
Farm-to-Table Lunch at Hali?imaile General Store
Taste Upcountry Maui’s produce at a farm-to-table lunch at Hali?imaile General Store. The restaurant highlights locally sourced Hawaiian ingredients in dishes shaped by island flavours, Asian influences and contemporary cooking.
Originally a plantation shop, Hali?imaile General Store became a longstanding Maui dining destination under chef Beverly Gannon. Its setting and menu offer a flavourful connection between the island’s agricultural past and its present-day food culture.
Haleakala National Park Sunrise Experience
Choose to experience sunrise at Haleakala National Park on Maui. Watch changing light reveal the volcano’s vast, stark landscape, and look for the Haleakala silversword, a rare plant adapted to the mountain’s high-elevation conditions.
Hear Hawaiian legends associated with Haleakala while taking in a setting far removed from Maui’s beaches. This is one of two included Insight Choice activities; travellers select it instead of the Lana?i cruise and snorkelling experience.
Lana?i Coastal Cruise & Snorkelling
Choose to cruise towards Lana?i’s scenic coastline and snorkel above a coral reef alive with marine life. The boat journey provides a sea-level view of the island, while time in the water reveals another side of Hawai?i’s natural environment.
Wild dolphins inhabit waters around Lana?i, and humpback whales may be seen offshore from December to April, though wildlife sightings cannot be guaranteed. This is one of two included Insight Choice activities, offered as an alternative to Haleakala sunrise.
Hawai?i Volcanoes National Park
Explore Hawai?i Volcanoes National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site encompassing the volcanic landscapes of Kilauea and Mauna Loa. See ancient lava fields and steaming vents, and take in views of Kilauea Caldera from the Crater Rim Drive area.
Your Travel Director shares how volcanic activity continues to shape the Island of Hawai?i, alongside stories of Pele, the Hawaiian volcano goddess. Conditions and accessible areas can change in this active landscape, making each visit a close look at geology in motion.
