Full Day

Great Yarmouth & the Norfolk Coastline

Our second day out takes us to Norwich, one of the most complete medieval cities in the country. Norwich is steeped in history and atmosphere, with winding lanes lined with period buildings and an imposing Norman cathedral, which boasts the second tallest spire in England. There’s also a wealth of museums that offer an insight into the royal legacy with venues such as Norwich Castle, originally intended to be a royal palace when it was first commissioned around 900 years ago.

Full Day

Great Yarmouth & the Norfolk Coastline

Our optional excursion takes us to Norfolk’s only national park, a tranquil landscape of waterways, marshes, woodland and a variety of rare plants and animals such as the elusive swallowtail butterfly and the Norfolk hawker dragonfly. We travel to lovely Wroxham on the banks of the River Bure, known as ‘the capital of the Norfolk Broads’ and surrounded by lush greenery, with the peaceful sight of boats gliding along the riverside scenery complimenting the gentle pace of the region. Along the way, we also see Potter Heigham and Horning, a postcard-perfect embodiment of a waterside Norfolk village.

Half Day

Discover Norwich’s medieval heart through cobbled Elm Hill and the lively market square. Admire Norwich Cathedral with its soaring spire, and take in the view of Norwich Castle, the formidable Norman keep above the Wensum.

Half-timbered fronts, narrow lanes and riverside paths speak of trade, guilds and ecclesiastical power. Pause for photos and reflection in historic Tombland or browse independent galleries and bookshops in the Lanes. This visit showcases one of England’s most complete historic cities.

Experience the gentle waterways of the Norfolk Broads National Park on a scenic coach outing to riverside villages. Take in reedbeds and windpumps around Wroxham on the River Bure, and watch boats slip beneath the medieval bridge at Potter Heigham before reaching pretty Horning.

This low-lying landscape shelters the rare swallowtail butterfly and Norfolk hawker dragonfly, while broad skies mirror across quiet lagoons. This optional excursion is at additional cost and bookable on tour, typically a relaxed half-day focused on scenery and wildlife.

Explore the north Norfolk coast with visits to Cromer and Sheringham. Walk the length of the Cromer Pier for wide North Sea views, and breathe the salt air along the sands. In Sheringham, amble the seafront promenade lined with beach huts and working boats.

Trace how Victorian resort culture emerged with the railways while flint cottages and cliff-top gardens preserve local character. Pause for photos and reflection from viewpoints above the shore. This coastal pairing distils Norfolk’s easygoing rhythm and bracing sea light.
