Today we cross into the Netherlands to discover two of its most charming destinations. Our first stop is the picturesque fishing village of Volendam, where colourful houses, traditional Dutch character and a bustling waterfront create a postcard-perfect setting. Enjoy time at leisure to wander the harbour, browse the shops or simply soak up the atmosphere before we continue to Amsterdam. The Dutch capital offers plenty to discover, from its famous canals and historic streets to lively squares, cafés and museums. This evening, enjoy dinner at leisure in Amsterdam before we return to our hotel.

Please note: due to local traffic regulations, there is a walk of approximately 30 minutes from the coach drop-off point to the city centre.

Dutch Bulbfields & Amsterdam

The spectacular Keukenhof Gardens, one of the world’s largest and most beautiful flower gardens. Each spring, more than seven million bulbs burst into bloom across the park’s colourful displays, creating a breathtaking patchwork of tulips, hyacinths, daffodils and countless other spring flowers. Stroll through beautifully landscaped gardens, admire the vibrant floral displays and enjoy the unforgettable sights and scents of this world-famous attraction before we stop for dinner at leisure on our return journey to the hotel.

After breakfast, we check out of the hotel and head to Calais for our journey home on LeShuttle.

Visit North Holland on a hosted coach excursion to the fishing village of Volendam and the Dutch capital. Stroll the Volendam harbour beside wooden houses and bobbing boats, browsing artisan shops and dike-top views across the Markermeer.

Continue to Amsterdam for time to explore Amsterdam’s UNESCO-listed Canal Ring and lively Dam Square. Enjoy cafés, museums and waterside scenes at your own pace. Note: local traffic rules mean a walk of about 30 minutes from the coach drop-off to the city centre.

Explore the Netherlands’ floral heart with Entrance to Keukenhof Gardens in Lisse. Meander lakeside paths as vibrant spring displays of tulips, hyacinths and daffodils sweep across sculpted beds. Pause at the historic windmill viewpoint for panoramas over the surrounding bulbfields.

Gain insight into Dutch horticulture in the fragrant glasshouse pavilions, where growers present showpiece varieties and seasonal themes. Established in 1949 to showcase breeding excellence, the park celebrates color, craftsmanship, and the country’s gardening heritage in an inspiring, open-air gallery of bloom.
