Downton Abbey – Behind the Scenes Exclusive

Today we head to Highclere Castle by coach for our exclusive visit. We skip the queues and go behind the scenes where we explore the stunning filming locations and walk in the footsteps of all our favourite Downton Abbey characters. We also take in the castle’s spectacular Egyptian Exhibition, which chronicles the 5th Earl of Carnarvon’s travels to Egypt and his role in the discovery of the tomb of Tutankhamun. After an inspiring day at Highclere, we rejoin the coach for the journey home.

Explore Highclere Castle on an exclusive behind-the-scenes access visit with skip-the-line entry. Walk through the Saloon, Library and State Rooms seen in the Downton Abbey filming locations, pausing in portrait-lined corridors and on the grand oak staircase. Step outside to admire sweeping parkland shaped by Capability Brown.

Delve into the castle’s Egyptian Exhibition, tracing the 5th Earl of Carnarvon’s partnership with Howard Carter and the 1922 discovery of Tutankhamun’s tomb. Understand how Sir Charles Barry’s ‘Jacobethan’ design turned a Victorian country house into a modern cultural icon.
