Additional information

On day 3, continue on the disused rail trail beneath the Sorapis range, with the crags of the Cinque Torri guiding your descent through forested valleys and limestone outcrops. Pause in Pieve di Cadore, the birthplace of Titian, where church bells and stone lanes recall the Renaissance master.

Carry on through the historic “valley of the ice-cream makers”, whose artisans once spread Italy’s gelato craft across Europe, then follow easy riverside sections into Belluno. Framed by distant peaks, its arcaded streets and tidy piazzas invite a pause for photos and reflection before you settle in for the evening.

On day 4, leave Belluno and spin across rolling foothills lined with poplars and orchards, linking a string of quiet village streets and tree-shaded avenues. The terrain undulates gently, offering broad valley views and easy stops for a coffee in local bars.

Arrive at Feltre, a historic hilltop town rebuilt in the 16th century after 1510 when it suffered for siding with Venice. Within its walls, frescoed facades and stone gateways reveal centuries of Venetian influence. Stroll the upper town before dusk to enjoy a free evening exploring trattorias tucked along the lanes.

On day 5, descend from the hills into the broad Brenta Valley, following flowing roads toward the plains and the handsome town of Bassano del Grappa, named for nearby Monte Grappa. Cross the Ponte degli Alpini (Ponte Vecchio), the iconic wooden bridge reimagined by Andrea Palladio, and feel the river rush beneath your wheels.

Bassano’s story is threaded with mountain warfare and artisan distilling; today its porticoes, ceramics shops and convivial piazzas set the scene for a relaxed evening. Pause for photos and reflection on the bridge as the Brenta glows in late light, then explore the old town at your own pace.

On day 6, ride the plains past elegant Palladian villas—all symmetry and pale stone—before climbing gently to Asolo, the “City of a Hundred Horizons”. Its castle tower and cobbled lanes invite a short wander and a coffee with views stretching over vine-draped hills.

Continue to Treviso, where medieval walls and waterways encircle a center of arcaded walkways, market squares and canal-side houses. The route showcases the Veneto’s quieter side, with time to enjoy a free afternoon meandering past bridges and brick-lined streams before dinner.

On day 7, finish with a gentle spin along the River Sile, following reedbeds, willow shade and calm towpaths toward the lagoon fringe. The water’s steady flow once carried barges to Venice; today it’s a tranquil wildlife corridor where you might spot herons lifting from the shallows.

Roll into Mestre (Venice mainland), perfectly placed to visit the “Floating City” by public transport. After checking in, many choose to cross the water for an evening passeggiata, letting the day end with the lagoon’s soft light and church bells carrying on the breeze.

From Mestre on day 7 or morning of day 8, join an optional city experience to explore St Mark’s Square, step inside the Doge’s Palace and stroll the Rialto Bridge. Navigate narrow calli and campi as your guide reveals how a maritime republic rose from marsh islands to rule the Adriatic.

Inside the Gothic Palazzo Ducale, courtyards and council halls speak of power, trade and intrigue, while the arcades of Piazza San Marco frame the lagoon’s changing light. This activity is at additional cost and bookable on tour; timings are arranged to enjoy a free afternoon for canalside wandering or a coffee under the arches.

After your ride on day 5, opt to visit the Poli Grappa Museum near the bridge and sample regional grappas crafted from local pomace. Learn how this crystalline spirit evolved from farmhouse practicality to a refined Veneto tradition.

Displays trace distillation methods and the role of Monte Grappa vineyards, while a guided tasting explores floral, herbal and spicy notes. This experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour, with time afterward to pause for photos and reflection on the Ponte degli Alpini as evening light warms the river.

On day 6, detour into the UNESCO-listed Prosecco zone to sample DOCG Prosecco in a countryside winery near Asolo or Valdobbiadene. Walk the vines, learn about the Glera grape and the gentle charmat method that captures the wine’s pear, apple and white-flower freshness.

A guided tasting introduces different styles—from brut to extra dry—paired with local cheeses or salumi. This activity is at additional cost and bookable on tour, timed so you can enjoy a free afternoon rolling into Treviso along calm lanes and waterways.

In the late afternoon or evening of day 7, choose a classic Venetian moment and glide by gondola along quiet rii and under stone bridges. With the echoing cathedral nave of the city’s waterways all around, the gentle sway and soft voices of gondoliers evoke centuries of lagoon life.

Hear how the black-lacquered gondola evolved to suit narrow canals and shifting tides as palazzi lanterns flicker on the water. This experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour, and pairs well with time afterward to soak in the lakeside atmosphere of the Bacino di San Marco at sunset.

On day 2, pedal the old Dolomites narrow-gauge railway from the Val Pusteria past Lago di Dobbiaco and a poignant First World War cemetery. The graded track and gentle tunnels frame constant mountain drama, with views to the Tre Cime di Lavaredo and the serrated skyline of the Ampezzan Alps as you roll toward the chic mountain town of Cortina d’Ampezzo.

Along the way, your Tour App notes highlight how these dolomite spires were once seabed, their pale cliffs glowing at dusk. Crossing from South Tyrol into Veneto, sense the cultural shift from Germanic to Italian influences before you soak in Cortina’s alpine atmosphere—a former Olympic host with lively cafés and mountain views.
