GT20 Cap Corse Coastal Ride: Bastia to Centuri
Begin your cycling adventure on day 2 by joining the GT20’s first leg north from Bastia along Cap Corse. Follow the shoreline past Genoese towers, stone hamlets like Erbalunga and Macinaggio, and pockets of maquis scented with wild rosemary and cistus. The route undulates above wave-carved coves and tiny marinas, with picnic-worthy viewpoints around each headland.
History filters through every turn: watchtowers once guarded trade routes between Corsica and the Italian coast, while old mills and convents recall centuries of Genoese rule. Your day concludes in Centuri, France’s foremost lobster port, where boats unload their bright traps at dusk and the harbour’s slate-roofed houses gleam with salt spray.
Balagne Maquis & Olive Groves: Monticello to Calvi
On day 5, ride the Balagne through lanes lined with olive groves and dry-stone terraces, where the honeyed villages perch like miradors above the coast. Detours tempt toward artisan hubs such as Pigna or Sant’Antonino, while the main route flows across scented slopes of maquis with views to the sea.
As you approach Calvi, the Genoese citadel crowns a granite promontory and the broad bay arcs in pale sand. It’s a grand arrival—coastal light, gulls wheeling, and café tables spilling into sunlit squares—rewarding a day that blends pastoral Corsica with the promise of the shore.
Corsican Coastal Train: Calvi to Bastia
On day 7, board the Corsican railway for an included transfer from Calvi to Bastia, a scenic journey that traces coastal stretches past L’Île-Rousse before climbing through fragrant pine and granite ridgelines. Settle by the window for stunning sea views, sandy inlets, and stone villages flashing by in a rhythm you can’t match on the road.
This little island network has long stitched mountain to sea, and you’ll feel that connection as the landscape shifts from Balagne beaches to Bastia’s colourful waterfront. Arriving back, enjoy a free evening to revisit the Vieux Port’s bars, watch fishermen mending nets, and savour one last Corsican night by the water.

On day 8, your journey concludes with an included private transfer to the airport. There’s time for a final espresso at the counter and a glance over the harbour’s polychrome fishing boats before you go. Your driver will assist with luggage—kept effortlessly light all week thanks to the tour’s transfers—so you can simply enjoy the ride.
As the car threads Bastia’s seafront and climbs toward the runway, the island’s contrasts replay in memory: misty mountain passes, maquis fragrance, and citadel silhouettes above glassy bays. It’s a gentle farewell to Corsica’s coasts and villages, carrying home the cadence of the road.
Patrimonio Wine Tasting Stop
While riding day 3, detour into a cellar in Patrimonio to sample regional wines where they’re grown. Winemakers pour Niellucciu reds with cherry and spice, elegant Vermentinu whites, and rosé shaped by sea breezes and schist. Learn how terraces, exposure, and winds from the gulf influence each vintage as you swirl and sip among barrels and stone walls.
This optional stop deepens your connection to Corsican culture—wine as a thread linking land, family, and feast days. Tastings are at additional cost and bookable on tour through your representative, with purchases delivered or packed for easy carriage on the e-bike route.
Centuri Lobster Dinner on the Harbour
Celebrate day 2’s coastal ride in Centuri with a harbourfront meal featuring the village’s hallmark catch: langouste de Cap Corse. Choose a classic preparation—grilled with herbs from the maquis or simmered à l’armoricaine—paired with crisp Vermentinu as boats settle for the night and the water takes on copper tones.
This is Cap Corse at table: fishermen unloading traps, slate roofs darkening with evening breeze, and plates that taste of salt and thyme. The experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour; your representative can reserve a recommended restaurant and set menu to suit the day’s catch.
E-Bike Fitting, Safety Briefing & Route Pack Hand-over

Fine-tune saddle height, check brakes and gears, and learn how to use the pedal-assist modes for Corsica’s rolling terrain. You’ll also receive daily route notes and GPX files, plus tips on charging, locking, and caring for your bike between rides.
The briefing sets the tone for the island’s new GT20 cycle route, outlining scenic highlights, café stops, and safety on narrow coastal roads. With panniers fitted and questions answered, you’re ready to ride with confidence, supported throughout by management from our local agent should you need assistance during the journey.

Pedal between stone walls and olive groves as the landscape softens, with the Tyrrhenian opening to the shimmering Gulf of Saint-Florent. The ride balances gentle gradients with sweeping panoramas perfect for pause for photos and reflection.
Patrimonio is Corsica’s historic wine heartland, famed for Niellucciu reds and floral Vermentinu. Cultural threads run deep here—family domaines, dry-stone terraces, and chapel bells over vine rows. Roll into Saint-Florent’s marina for a golden-hour stroll, where waterfront terraces face the sunset and fishing skiffs clink softly against the quay.
Across the Agriates Desert to the Balagne: Saint-Florent to Monticello
Day 4 carries you through the Agriates Desert, a rugged mosaic of scrub and rocky ridges where the scent of maquis rises in the warmth. Expect undulating roads, sea glimpses toward remote coves like Saleccia and Lotu, and long horizons that invite steady, battery-assisted cruising.
Beyond the scrublands, the character shifts to the Balagne, famed for olive culture and balcon villages. Arrive in Monticello, where a breezy square hosts evening games of pétanque and laughter from the village bar. The setting captures Corsica’s inland soul—terraces, stone houses, and starry skies—just a short descent from the sea.
Calvi Citadel & Marina Self-Guided Walk
Use day 6 to explore Calvi’s citadel, a Genoese stronghold with bastioned walls, vaulted lanes, and breezy viewpoints over the bay. Wander past Saint-Jean-Baptiste Cathedral, salt stores, and powder magazines, tracing the maritime power that shaped this coast. The warren of streets opens to squares where shutters clap and laundry lines sway.
Calvi’s lore includes the local tradition that it was the birthplace of Christopher Columbus, a story you’ll encounter near the ramparts. Back at the pretty port, trattoria menus lean toward grilled fish and citrus-bright Vermentinu. The evening belongs to you—choose a terrace and watch the sunset paint the citadel gold.
Arrival in Bastia: Private Transfer & Old Port Self-Guided Stroll
Touch down and enjoy a smooth start with an included private airport transfer to your hotel on day 1. With bags settled, set out to explore the old port and Genoese citadel, a fortified eyrie that gave Bastia its name from the 14th-century bastiglia. Amble the steep lanes toward Saint-Jean-Baptiste church and the café-lined quays, where fishing boats bob against reflections of ochre facades.
Your route notes suggest atmospheric corners such as Terra Vecchia and Terra Nova, revealing how Genoa shaped Corsican life and trade. As the light softens over the Tyrrhenian, pause to enjoy a free evening with local seafood and a glass of Vermentinu, easing into the island’s unhurried rhythm.
