Additional information
Epidaurus Ancient Theatre & Sanctuary of Asklepios
Visit the healing sanctuary of Asklepios, where pilgrims sought cures in a serene grove dedicated to the god of medicine. Step into the ancient theatre of Epidaurus, a limestone bowl famed for perfect acoustics; even a whisper on stage can carry to the highest tiers.
Explore how Greek medicine embraced care for the mind and body, blending ritual, rest and performance. The theatre’s harmonious geometry, framed by pine-clad hills, embodies classical ideals of beauty and balance in one of Greece’s most evocative archaeological settings.
Mycenae Citadel, Lion Gate & Royal Graves
Enter the Bronze Age stronghold of Mycenae through the monumental Lion Gate and trace the line of its massive cyclopean walls. Within the hilltop citadel, wander palace ruins and look across the Argolid Plain, a landscape bound to legends that inspired epic poetry and classical drama.
Peer into Grave Circle A, where gold-rich burials revealed the artistry and reach of these warrior-kings. Your visit evokes the Age of Heroes, when Mycenae stood at the heart of trade, myth and power in the Late Bronze Age Aegean.
Hydra & Spetses Islands Cruise
Cruise the Saronic Gulf on a relaxing boat cruise to Hydra and Spetses, two islands known for pine-scented hillsides and harbour-front cafés. Stroll the amphitheatre harbour of car-free Hydra, where stone mansions rise above bobbing caiques, and lanes echo with the clip-clop of pack animals.
On Spetses, admire neoclassical waterfront mansions and the charm of horse-drawn carriages. This optional excursion is at additional cost, bookable on tour, and typically operates April–November, weather dependent.
Delphi Archaeological Site & Museum
Discover Delphi beneath the cliffs of Mount Parnassus, walking the Sacred Way past treasuries towards the Temple of Apollo. Amid cypress and laurel, hear tales of the legendary oracle whose riddling prophecies shaped the decisions of kings and city-states across the ancient Greek world.
Delve into the museum to encounter masterpieces, including the burnished bronze of the Charioteer of Delphi. Exhibits illuminate Delphi’s role as a panhellenic sanctuary and “navel of the world,” linking ritual, politics and artistry in a setting of striking natural drama.
Olympia Archaeological Site & Museum
Walk the training grounds and the ancient Olympic Stadium at Olympia, where athletes once competed in honour of Zeus within the sacred Altis. Stand at the stone starting line and imagine crowds gathering under the Olympic truce, when warfare paused so the best of Greece could vie for glory.
In the museum, examine sculpted pediments from the Temple of Zeus and elegant works like the Hermes of Praxiteles. Artefacts and inscriptions bring to life a thousand years of sport, ritual and civic pride in this pine-scented valley of the Peloponnese.
Acropolis, Parthenon & Acropolis Museum
Explore Athens’ sacred hill as you join a guided visit to the Parthenon, the Propylaea and the Erechtheion. From the limestone heights, the city spreads below in a tapestry of whitewashed streets and terracotta roofs, while your guide reveals how this citadel became the emblem of civic life and classical art.
Continue at the Acropolis Museum, where glass walkways reveal an excavated neighbourhood beneath your feet. Study the graceful Erechtheion Caryatids and the Parthenon Gallery’s marbles to appreciate the era’s balance, proportion and masterful Pentelic marble craftsmanship.
