Dénia & Jávea Coastal Towns and Marina Promenades
Follow the Costa Blanca north for a gentle day among two seaside gems. In Dénia, wander the waterfront by the yacht basin and marina promenade, with time to photograph the hilltop Dénia Castle surveying the port. Cafés spill onto pavements in the old fishermen’s quarter, where the scent of coffee and grilled seafood drifts through narrow streets.
Continue to Jávea (Xàbia), framed by the Montgó Massif. Browse boutiques near the Arenal bay or step into the historic centre to admire warm tosca-stone facades and the fortified Church of San Bartolomé. Expect unhurried browsing, sea breezes and opportunities to pause for photos and reflection. This relaxed outing typically operates as a daytime excursion with time for a waterfront lunch at leisure.
Guadalest Hilltop Village & Castle Lookout (Half Day)
Venture inland on a winding route through misty mountain passes to the tiny fortress-village of Guadalest. Enter the upper quarter through a narrow tunnel hewn from rock, then climb to the castle ruins and white belltower clinging to a crag. From here, pause for photos and reflection over the valley and the striking turquoise reservoir below.
Once a Moorish stronghold guarding the passes, Guadalest’s lanes now host small museums and craft shops showcasing local ceramics, almonds and honey. Your visit balances scenic drama with village charm, returning to Benidorm by early afternoon so you can enjoy a free afternoon at the coast. This half-day excursion typically runs in the morning near the end of the stay.
Christmas Day Festive Lunch & Spanish Traditions
Celebrate Christmas Day at the hotel with a leisurely festive lunch, included as part of your stay. Expect seasonal Spanish flavours—perhaps seafood starters, roast meats and market-fresh vegetables—served with friendly hospitality. Glasses of cava are raised, conversation hums, and the relaxed rhythm of the Costa Blanca sets the mood for the afternoon.
Your resort team will nod to local customs, from intricate belén nativity scenes to sweets like turrón from Jijona. With sunshine often warming the promenades, many guests stroll to the seafront to soak in the lakeside atmosphere—here, the Mediterranean—before returning for evening entertainment. The celebration unfolds at midday on Christmas Day, capturing the region’s gentle, convivial spirit.
New Year’s Eve Gala Dinner & Midnight Celebrations
Ring in the year with an included gala dinner at the hotel—multiple courses, poured wine and a convivial setting that builds towards midnight. A band or DJ keeps the mood buoyant as guests mingle, dance and enjoy a free evening of laughter and toasts in the lounge.
At midnight, join Spain’s joyful ritual of the uvas de la suerte, eating twelve grapes to the chimes for good luck, followed by a cava toast. In Benidorm, the atmosphere spills onto promenades as fireworks sparkle along the coast. Festivities take place on New Year’s Eve and usually continue into the small hours—an elegant, warm-hearted farewell to the old year by the sea.
Evening Entertainment at the Hotel
On selected nights, settle into the lounge for live music and social dancing, friendly quiz rounds, or relaxed cabaret-style sets. It’s a welcoming way to unwind after dinner, meet fellow travellers and enjoy a free evening without leaving the hotel’s comfortable surroundings.
The programme reflects Spanish resort life—easy-going, melodic and sociable—often featuring familiar classics alongside local favourites. Order a drink from the bar and let the conversation flow, or step onto the floor for a slow waltz. Entertainment typically starts in the evening and runs through late night on several days of your stay.
Murcia City Visit & Cathedral Quarter (Optional)
Head south to Murcia for a leisurely exploration of its elegant historic core. Stroll the Segura riverfront towards the 18th-century Puente de los Peligros, then enter the old quarter where café terraces fill sunlit squares. Admire the soaring facade of the Murcia Cathedral—a triumph of Spanish Baroque—and the surrounding palaces and townhouses with wrought-iron balconies.
There’s free time to sample tapas or a classic pastel de carne before the return drive. This is an optional excursion at additional cost (£19pp), bookable with your resort representative on tour, and typically operates as a daytime visit with a relaxed pace.
Valencia City Highlights: Old Quarter & Turia Gardens
Travel north to Valencia for a full-day visit that blends medieval lanes with bold contemporary design. Begin with a guided spin through the historic centre: the lively Plaza de la Reina, the Cathedral and El Miguelete bell tower, the aromatic Mercado Central, and the delicate gothic tracery of La Lonja de la Seda (UNESCO). Enjoy free time to sample paella or sip horchata in a sunlit café.
Later, follow the green ribbon of the Turia Gardens—a former riverbed reimagined after the 1957 flood—to the futuristic City of Arts and Sciences, a gleaming complex by Santiago Calatrava and Félix Candela. With city beaches and tree-lined promenades nearby, Valencia showcases Spain’s coastal elegance. This excursion typically runs mid-stay and returns to Benidorm by early evening.
Benidorm Old Town Orientation Walk & Poniente Promenade
After settling in, meet your resort representative and join a guided orientation through Benidorm’s atmospheric Old Town. Stroll from Hotel Port Fiesta Park towards the Poniente Beach promenade, breathing the salt air and admiring palms and pale-gold sand. Thread the cobbles of Tapas Alley, pause by the blue-domed Church of San Jaime and Santa Ana, and step onto the Balcón del Mediterráneo for wide sea views.
Along the way, hear how a modest fishing village transformed in the 1950s into a resort famed for its skyline and sunshine. Your representative shares local tips on cafés, market days and buses, so you can enjoy a free afternoon with confidence. This relaxed walk typically takes place on the arrival afternoon or the following morning, setting the tone for your holiday by the sea.
