Berlin Highlights with a Local Expert
Explore Berlin with a Local Expert, passing the Brandenburg Gate and restored Reichstag, the State Opera House and remnants of the Berlin Wall. See Unter den Linden and Museum Island while discovering how imperial landmarks sit alongside traces of the divided city.
The ruined spire of the Kaiser Wilhelm Memorial Church recalls the destruction of the Second World War, while the Reichstag’s restoration reflects Germany’s reunification. This guided overview connects Berlin’s architecture with the events that reshaped it.
Leipzig Christmas Market & St Thomas Church
Explore Leipzig’s Christmas Market on an orientation with your Travel Director. Around 250 stalls fill the historic market square with festive decorations, seasonal aromas and traditions dating back to the 15th century. Visit St Thomas Church (Thomaskirche), where Johann Sebastian Bach worked and is buried.
Leipzig’s musical heritage gives the market a distinctive setting: the city’s long association with Bach lives on at the church, while its central square remains a gathering place for Christmas celebrations.
Dresden Historic Centre with a Local Expert
Discover Dresden with a Local Expert, taking in the Frauenkirche, the vast Procession of the Dukes mosaic, Dresden Cathedral, Semper Opera House and Zwinger Palace. These landmarks reveal the elaborate architecture of the former Saxon royal capital.
Learn how the Frauenkirche was reconstructed after its destruction in the Second World War. The mosaic, made from porcelain tiles, portrays centuries of Saxon rulers and adds another chapter to Dresden’s artistic and dynastic history.
Dresden Christmas Markets & Christstollen Tasting
Explore Dresden’s Christmas markets with a Local Expert and taste local Christstollen, the fruit-filled Christmas bread closely associated with the city. Browse festive stalls while learning about the Christmas pyramids that form part of German seasonal tradition.
Dresden’s Striezelmarkt traces its origins to the 15th century and takes its name from an early form of stollen. The tasting links the market’s present-day bustle to a baking tradition rooted in centuries of local celebration.
Nuremberg Christkindlesmarkt Orientation
Explore Nuremberg’s Christkindlesmarkt on an orientation with your Travel Director. Traditional red-and-white-roofed stalls fill the market setting, while the city’s medieval ramparts and watchtowers lend a sense of its long history. Look out for the handcrafted Nuremberg Plum People among the decorations.
Browse at your own pace for regional favourites such as Rostbratwurste, Lebkuchen and Gluhwein. These foods and crafts make the market a lively introduction to Franconian Christmas customs; any personal purchases are at your own expense.
Rothenburg ob der Tauber Medieval Town Visit
Explore Rothenburg ob der Tauber, a walled medieval town of cobbled lanes, towers and half-timbered houses. During the Christmas season, the Reiterlesmarkt adds festive stalls to its historic streets. You can also choose to browse the town’s year-round Christmas shop.
Rothenburg’s preserved streetscape offers a close-up view of Franconian town life and architecture. The Reiterlesmarkt draws on a market tradition spanning roughly 500 years; shopping and refreshments are personal purchases.
Munich City Orientation & Christmas Market
Discover central Munich with your Travel Director, seeing the Feldherrnhalle at Odeonsplatz, landmarks associated with the Wittelsbach dynasty, the Hofbräuhaus and St Peter’s Church. In Marienplatz, look up at the New Town Hall and its Glockenspiel.
