Bournemouth & Weymouth

Our optional excursion takes us to Salisbury, often referred to as the ‘City in the Countryside’ thanks to its scenic setting, surrounded by rolling, verdant landscapes. Boasting a rich heritage, hundreds of buildings are listed for their historical merit, including the Gothic cathedral, which features the tallest spire in Britain and the best-preserved version of the 1215 Magna Carta. Explore the patchwork of streets with its jumble of architectural styles, ranging from medieval walls and half-timbered Tudor townhouses to Georgian mansions and Victorian villas – with plenty of eateries and shops on offer too.

Full Day

Experience classic English seaside charm as you stroll the Georgian Esplanade of Weymouth, framed by pastel terraces, the King’s Statue and a sweeping bay of golden sands. Slip into the harbour quarter for bobbing trawlers, colorful cottages and the aroma of salt and sea as gulls wheel overhead.

Gain perspective on the UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast with vistas toward Portland and the shingle of Chesil Beach. Shaped by royal patronage under George III, the resort’s elegant curve and sheltered waters invite a relaxed promenade and a moment to pause for photos and reflection along the shore.

Visit Salisbury, the “City in the Countryside,” and visit Salisbury Cathedral, a masterpiece of Early English Gothic with a soaring spire rising above sweeping lawns. Step inside the cool, stone nave and see the Chapter House, home to the best-preserved 1215 Magna Carta. Amble through the tranquil cathedral close before exploring half-timbered streets lined with independent shops and cafés.

Set amid water meadows tended by the River Avon, Salisbury blends centuries of faith, craft and civic pride. This excursion is at additional cost and is bookable on tour, offering ample time for personal discovery and contemplative moments beneath England’s tallest spire.

Explore Poole’s maritime heritage as you explore the historic Old Town and wander its lively quayside. Amble past cobbled lanes and Georgian facades to landmarks like the Guildhall and St James’ Church, before tracing the waterfront where fishing boats and brick warehouses hint at centuries of seafaring trade. Gaze across Poole Harbour toward Brownsea Island and the Sandbanks Peninsula.

Hear how wealth from the medieval wool trade, shipbuilding and privateering shaped this storied port. With one of Europe’s largest natural harbours at your feet, this is a place to pause for photos and reflection amid sea breezes, creaking rigging and the bustle of a working quay.
