Additional information
Okavango Delta Mokoro Canoe Excursion
Drift through waterlily-dotted channels in a traditional mokoro canoe, poled silently by a local poler. Skim past reeds where kingfishers hover and jacanas tiptoe on lily pads, feeling the Delta’s rhythms at water level on these silent waterways.
Your guide shares the craft’s cultural roots and the wetland’s seasonal pulse as you slide between lagoon and channel. This contemplative water safari is at additional cost and bookable on tour, weather and water levels permitting.
Okavango Delta Helicopter Flight
Lift into the sky on a scenic helicopter flight over the Okavango Delta, tracing hippo paths through emerald floodplains and spotting elephants from above. Aerial views reveal the mosaic of lagoons, islands and channels in ways ground safaris can’t match.
Pilots adjust routes to maximise aerial wildlife spotting and light for photography; doors-off configurations may be available with some operators. This flight is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
Okavango Craft Brewery Tour, Tasting & Dinner (Maun)
Toast your adventure with a brewery tour in Maun, learning how small-batch beers are crafted for the Kalahari climate before a guided tasting. Settle in for a relaxed pairing dinner and swap safari stories with the crew.
Expect easygoing vibes, local flavours and a celebratory close to your Botswana journey. This evening is at additional cost and bookable on tour, subject to opening hours and availability.
Chobe National Park Game Drives — Sunrise & Sunset
Join sunrise and sunset game drives through the famed riverfront of Chobe National Park, where fertile riverfront floodplains draw vast herds of elephant alongside buffalo, hippo and antelope. Golden light and cool air spark wildlife movement, offering prime sightings and photography.
Your tracker interprets fresh tracks, bird calls and distant dust to locate predators and big game. Depending on season and water levels, routes vary to keep you in the best habitat. When bush camping is replaced by a lodge (typically Oct–Mar), these hallmark drives remain core to your Chobe experience.
Chobe Bush Camping Under the Stars (Seasonal Special Stay)
Experience the magic of the African night as you camp under the African stars at a private bush camp with dome tents, stretcher beds and linen. Gather by the crackling campfire for dinner while the night sounds of the savannah—owl calls, hyena whoops—carry across the dark.
Guides and camp staff look after meals and safety so you can sink into the spectacle of the Milky Way. Note: This Special Stay typically operates Apr–Oct; at other times, a comfortable lodge base keeps you close to the wildlife-rich riverfront.
Makgadikgadi Salt Pans Sundowner
Savour sundowner drinks at the edge of the vast Makgadikgadi Salt Pans, where an endless white horizon turns rose and tangerine. Silhouettes of ancient baobab trees stand like sentinels over a landscape that once formed the bed of a prehistoric super-lake.
Your guide shares stories of shifting seasons, mirages and migratory patterns while you absorb the hush of this lunar plain. As the last light fades, the sky sharpens into a canopy of stars—an elemental Botswana moment that pairs serenity with scale.
Okavango Delta Exclusive Camp by the Khwai River
Settle into an exclusive safari camp on the banks of the Khwai River, inside the world-renowned Okavango Delta. Pre-erected tents with beds and linen mean comfort without fuss, while the soundtrack of hippo grunts and bell frogs drifts from the water’s edge.
Evenings centre on fire-cooked meals and stargazing; days revolve around wildlife viewing right from camp. This community-run concession protects vital floodplains and woodlands, offering rich biodiversity and the rare privilege of stillness between game activities.
Okavango Delta Game Drives — Dawn and Dusk
Explore “Africa’s Eden” on dawn and dusk game drives that traverse papyrus-fringed channels, mopane woodlands and open floodplains. Guides focus on predator tracking while you scan for elephants, hippos, giraffe and—if luck strikes—wild dogs or big cats.
Each habitat tells a story: owl pellets under jackalberry trees, lion prints on sandy two-tracks, herons stalking in the reeds. Soft, angled light elevates photography and reveals behaviour that heat obscures, making these drives the heartbeat of your Delta days.
Okavango Night Safari with Spotlights
Venture out on a guided night drive in the Khwai area, sweeping for nocturnal wildlife with spotlights beneath a star-studded sky. Look for genets, civets and bushbabies, and listen for lions as they rouse to hunt.
Night drives are a hallmark of the Khwai concession, where regulations allow after-dark exploration. Your guide explains how eyeshine reveals species and how animals adapt to darkness—an atmospheric, knowledge-rich complement to daytime viewing.
Zambezi White-Water Rafting (Victoria Falls)
Charge through the basalt canyons of the Zambezi River on a day of white-water rafting below the falls. Professional guides navigate the Batoka Gorge through churning rollers and thrilling Grade IV–V rapids, with calm pools between sets to catch your breath.
Helmets, vests and briefings keep the focus on fun and safety as you paddle beneath towering cliffs. Water levels and rapid classifications vary by season. This experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
Victoria Falls Locally Guided Village Tour
Visit a nearby community on a locally guided village tour to learn about everyday life beyond the tourist hub. Meet residents, see traditional homesteads, and hear how families balance heritage with modern change in this borderland region.
Guides share customs, language and crafts, offering context you won’t find from viewpoints alone. Purchases made at small cooperatives support artisans directly. This cultural experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour, subject to local availability.
Zambezi River Sunset Cruise with Drinks
Unwind on a sunset cruise along the upper Zambezi River, gliding past islands where hippos wallow and crocodiles bask. Sip included refreshments as golden-hour wildlife viewing unfolds and the sky fires up over the channel.
Listen for the cry of the African fish eagle and watch elephants drink from the shallows while the sun dips low. This relaxing, photo-friendly excursion is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
Chobe River Wildlife Cruise at Sunset
Glide along the Chobe waterfront on a Chobe River cruise, perfect for water-level photography of hippos, crocs and elephant crossings. As the light softens to a rose-pink sunset, watch herds descend to drink and buffalo churn through reeds.
Seeing river life from the water beautifully complements land safaris, revealing behaviours only visible at the shoreline. This experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
Makgadikgadi Meerkat Encounter & Salt Pan Drive
Set out in open vehicles for an open-vehicle pan drive onto the shimmering crust, then pause for a respectful meerkat encounter with a habituated colony. On the mirror-flat salt crust, take playful perspective photos that capture the pans’ scale and silence.
Guides discuss the fragile ecology of this ancient lakebed and how wildlife survives extremes. Conditions vary by season. This adventure is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
Zambezi National Park Walking Safari
Discover the bush on foot during a guided walking safari inside Zambezi National Park. With an expert ranger, learn to track wildlife spoor, read the landscape, and notice the smaller wonders—termites, medicinal plants, dung beetles—often missed from a vehicle.
Moving quietly through riverine forest and acacia savanna heightens every sense: rustling leaves become antelope, alarm calls betray predators, and birds flash through filtered light. Your guide shares safety protocols and ecological insights, turning each footprint and feather into a field note from the wild.
Victoria Falls Helicopter Flight — ‘Flight of Angels’
Soar on a helicopter flight over Victoria Falls, the legendary curtain of water known as “The Smoke that Thunders”. Arc above the Zambezi as it plunges into the Batoka Gorge, watching rainbow-sprayed mist drift over the rainforest and islands upstream. This elevated vantage reveals the full breadth and geometry of the falls in a way the ground never can.
Capture sweeping photographs of the gorge’s basalt cliffs and the river’s zig-zagging cataracts during this classic ‘Flight of Angels’. It’s a breathtaking orientation to the region’s geology and power—typically experienced early in the tour—while your pilot shares context on hydrology, seasonality and visibility.
