Blackpool Illuminations Weekend
From a morning pickup in your local area, we travel by coach to our hotel.
Southport Seaside Visit
Visit the Victorian resort of Southport on an optional excursion (additional cost, bookable on tour). Stroll elegant Lord Street with its wrought-iron canopies, browse independent boutiques and cafés, and walk the broad boardwalk towards Southport Pier, Britain’s second-longest, for sweeping estuary views.
Developed in the 19th century as an upscale retreat, Southport blends grand architecture with green spaces like King’s Gardens and Hesketh Park. Take time to enjoy the refined seaside mood and pause for photos and reflection along the waterfront before returning to Blackpool later in the day.
Blackpool Illuminations Evening Drive
Cruise the Promenade by coach to witness the Blackpool Illuminations, where six miles of seafront glow with arches, animated tableaux and colourful light sculptures. Watch the Blackpool Tower shimmer above the Golden Mile as the sea breeze and lively arcades create a festive coastal atmosphere.
Originating in the early 20th century and inspired by Blackpool’s pioneering electric lights of 1879, the display is a proud tradition for generations. Your driver follows the route at a comfortable pace, letting you admire intricate designs and capture the spectacle from your seat without missing a moment.
Fleetwood Market Excursion
Explore Fleetwood Market on an included excursion, browsing over 150 stalls across historic halls and outdoor pitches. Sample local Lancashire flavours, search for crafts and clothing, and chat with friendly traders as the bustle of bargain calls mixes with the aroma of fresh coffee and warm pastries.
Founded in the 1840s within Sir Peter Hesketh-Fleetwood’s planned seaside town, the market reflects a proud maritime heritage. Expect authentic community energy, glimpses of the waterfront, and time to pause for photos and reflection before rejoining the coach. This experience celebrates everyday local life rather than high-street chains.
Bluewaters Hotel Evening Entertainment
Wind down with sociable evening entertainment at the Bluewaters Hotel, where nights might feature live cabaret, quizzes or dancing. Share a drink with fellow travellers as performers bring a touch of Blackpool’s show tradition to the lounge, creating a relaxed, convivial atmosphere.
Drawing on the resort’s long history of variety and music-hall fun, these informal shows favour singalongs and light-hearted humour. Entertainment varies by evening, ensuring you can enjoy a sociable night without leaving the hotel and still feel connected to Blackpool’s enduring love of performance.
