Additional information

On day 3, head to the Victorian town of Fleetwood to browse Fleetwood Market, one of the North West’s largest. With more than 150 stalls, discover seasonal treats, Lancashire produce and handmade crafts as you chat with friendly stallholders. There’s time to sample warm snacks, pick up gifts, and enjoy a free hour exploring the surrounding streets and esplanade.

Beyond the market, learn how this planned resort was shaped by Sir Peter Hesketh-Fleetwood and architect Decimus Burton. Stroll to the Mount Pavilion for sweeping views over the Wyre Estuary and Morecambe Bay, or admire the Art Deco lines of Marine Hall. The town’s maritime story and salt-laced air invite you to pause for photos and reflection before returning to Blackpool.

In the evening, join an included coach drive along the Promenade to see the Blackpool Illuminations in full glow. From Starr Gate to Bispham, six miles of light installations, animated tableaux and neon arches transform the seafront, with the Blackpool Tower shining like a beacon above the waves. Settle in by the window, watch the reflections ripple across the shore, and savour the festive buzz.

First switched on in 1879, the Illuminations are a beloved ritual of British seaside life — part engineering marvel, part carnival of light. As your coach rolls the length of the Promenade, take in the craftsmanship of the displays, soak in the seaside atmosphere, and, where conditions allow, pause for photos of this dazzling coastal spectacle on day 3.

During your stay at the Savoy Hotel, gather for a convivial evening to sit down to a traditional ‘Christmas’ dinner with all the trimmings. Raise a glass at the hotel’s 2 for 1 bar (6pm–9pm), then round things off with after-dinner tea & coffee. It’s a relaxed, sociable night that brings the spirit of the season indoors by the seafront setting of Blackpool’s North Shore.

This British Turkey & Tinsel tradition captures the anticipation of the festive period through hearty food, twinkling décor and easy conversation. Afterward, enjoy the hotel’s light evening entertainment — perhaps live cabaret, a friendly quiz night or music for dancing. Expect warm hospitality, a cheerful soundtrack and time to meet fellow travellers and share stories from the day.

On day 4, opt for a scenic outing to Southport (additional cost £12pp, bookable on tour). Stroll the elegant Lord Street beneath Victorian glass canopies, browse independent shops and cafés, and walk the historic pier with views across the Marine Lake and Irish Sea. There’s time to enjoy a free afternoon soaking up the resort’s gentle pace and seaside light.

Southport blossomed in the 19th century; legend holds that Napoleon III drew inspiration from Lord Street for Parisian boulevards. Admire the King’s Gardens, ornate verandas and manicured parks that frame the shoreline. This optional excursion blends coastal nostalgia with refined architecture before returning to Blackpool by late afternoon — a leisurely, photogenic contrast to the bright lights of the promenade.
