Contiki
Rome Orientation Walk
Explore the Italian capital on an included orientation walk with your Contiki group. Get your bearings among Rome’s lively streets and historic sights while sharing first impressions with fellow travellers.
Rome’s appeal lies in the way ancient remains and everyday city life sit side by side. This introduction offers a feel for its piazzas, street life and layers of history without turning independent sightseeing into a formal guided monument tour.
Rome Welcome Dinner with a Community Purpose
Share an included Italian welcome feast with your Contiki group at a local Rome restaurant. It is a chance to get acquainted over Italian cuisine rather than simply gather for a routine hotel dinner.
The restaurant also trains and provides jobs for people with disabilities, giving the meal a meaningful connection to its community. Conversation around the table sets a sociable tone while supporting a local business with a clear purpose.
Siena’s Medieval Centre
Discover Siena’s UNESCO-listed historic centre, where narrow streets open onto the shell-shaped Piazza del Campo. Admire the exterior of the city’s striped-marble Duomo and take in the brick facades and steep lanes of this Tuscan hill town.
Medieval Siena grew wealthy through trade and banking, leaving a remarkably coherent cityscape. The Piazza del Campo and Duomo show two sides of that heritage: civic ambition and religious artistry. Interior entry is not specified.

Gather for an included feast of local delicacies in Florence, a city whose food traditions are rooted in the produce of Tuscany. The shared meal offers a taste of the region and time around the table with your travelling companions.
Florentine dining prizes straightforward ingredients and conviviality over elaborate presentation. This is an included regional food experience; the itinerary does not specify a set menu, venue or particular dishes, so the focus is on tasting what is served locally.
Lucca’s Walled Historic Centre
Ramble through Lucca’s historic centre, taking in cobbled lanes, inviting piazzas and Renaissance-era architecture. The compact Tuscan city is made for exploring on foot, with cafés and church facades appearing around its corners.

Leaning Tower of Pisa Photo Stop
See the Leaning Tower of Pisa and frame a photograph of its unmistakable tilt. The tower stands beside Pisa’s cathedral and baptistery in the open expanse of Piazza dei Miracoli.
Built as a freestanding bell tower, it began leaning as its foundations settled into soft ground. Its marble arcades and improbable angle make the square one of Italy’s most recognisable sights. This included visit does not specify a climb or entry ticket.
Cinque Terre Village Exploration Pass
Explore the five villages of Cinque Terre with the included rail pass, moving between colourful settlements above the Ligurian Sea. Choose your own mix of village streets, coastal viewpoints and time by the water.
An included pass also allows you to explore on foot where trails are accessible. Terraced hillsides and cliff-edge paths reveal why this coastal landscape is celebrated; trail access and conditions can change, so check locally before setting out. This is self-directed exploration, not a guided hike.
Lake Como Scenic Stop

Juliet’s House in Verona
Visit Juliet’s House in Verona, the address associated with Shakespeare’s most famous lovers. See the courtyard setting and the balcony that have made the site a popular symbol of the city’s romantic reputation.
The connection to Romeo and Juliet is literary tradition rather than a documented love story: Shakespeare set his tragedy in Verona, and the house became linked with its heroine much later. An interior visit or admission ticket is not specified.
Private Boat to Venice
Cross the Venetian lagoon by private boat to reach Venice’s historic heart. Approaching from the water reveals the city as it was meant to be seen: facades rising beside canals, boats threading through the lagoon and landmarks coming into view.
Venice grew from islands into a maritime trading power, and arrival by boat makes its relationship with water immediately tangible. This included crossing is distinct from the separately offered gondola ride and Burano cruise.
Bologna’s UNESCO-Listed Porticoes
Explore Bologna’s celebrated porticoes during a stop in this Emilia-Romagna city. Walk beneath covered walkways that shelter shopfronts and connect busy streets, squares and neighbourhoods.

Amalfi Coast Scenic Ferry
Glide along the Amalfi Coast by ferry, viewing its coastal towns from the sea. Watch clusters of pale and brightly coloured buildings rise above the water, with roads and terraces tracing the cliffs.
For local residents, boats are a practical way to travel between communities separated by steep terrain. That perspective also reveals the coast’s dramatic meeting of cliffs and Tyrrhenian Sea. This included ferry experience is separate from the optional Capri swimming cruise.
Positano Coastal Village Visit
Explore Positano’s steep village streets, passing sun-warmed houses and lanes that lead towards the sea. Find a viewpoint for the familiar sight of pastel buildings stacked against the Amalfi Coast cliffs.
The town’s vertical layout makes even a short wander a vivid encounter with its setting. Sea views, flowering corners and hillside architecture distinguish this included visit; the itinerary leaves you free to explore rather than specifying a guided walk or attraction entry.
Tuscan Evening with Risotto Demonstration
Join a risotto demonstration during an optional Tuscan evening in Florence. Enjoy local wine, antipasto and a sweet finish while watching how the dish is prepared.
The gathering brings Italian cooking into a sociable dining setting, where the rhythm of stirring risotto is part of the experience rather than just the finished meal. This experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour; the precise menu and venue are not specified.

Burano Island Cruise
Cruise to Burano, an island in the Venetian lagoon known for vividly painted houses along its canals. The outing offers a change of pace from central Venice and time to take in Burano’s colourful streets.
Beyond its bright facades, Burano has a long association with lace-making and lagoon life. Its smaller scale and waterside setting provide a distinct contrast with Venice’s busier historic centre. This optional cruise is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
Guided Tour of Pompeii
Walk through Pompeii with a guide to explore the remains of a Roman town buried by the eruption of Mount Vesuvius in AD 79. Its surviving streets and buildings offer a remarkably direct encounter with the ancient world.
