Waikiki Welcome Lei & Dinner
Experience a traditional flower lei welcome from your Travel Director in Honolulu, followed by a hosted dinner with fellow travellers in Waikiki. The gathering offers a chance to meet the group over food beside one of Hawaii’s best-known beaches.
Giving a lei is a gesture of welcome and affection in Hawaii. Against Waikiki’s oceanfront setting, the evening introduces the spirit of aloha through a personal welcome rather than sightseeing alone.
Oahu Coastal Sightseeing & North Shore
Explore Oahu beyond Waikiki on an island sightseeing excursion. Pause for a photograph at Halona Blowhole, where waves can force seawater through an opening in the volcanic rock, and see the North Shore’s renowned surf coastline. The route also includes a brief look at the Dole Plantation.
Oahu’s shores reveal contrasting landscapes, from rugged headlands to beaches shaped by powerful winter swells. The North Shore’s breaks have made it a centre of international surfing; wave conditions vary with the season.
Pearl Harbor & USS Arizona Memorial
Visit Pearl Harbor National Memorial and the USS Arizona Memorial to reflect on the attack of December 7, 1941. At the memorial, look out over the sunken battleship and pay respects to those who died aboard her.
The attack brought the United States into World War II. Exhibits and the memorial setting give this visit its weight: the ship remains beneath the water as a final resting place for many of its crew.
National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific
See the National Memorial Cemetery of the Pacific on a scenic drive through Punchbowl Crater in Honolulu. Rows of graves and memorials mark a place of remembrance for members of the United States armed forces.
Known in Hawaiian as Puowaina, the crater gives the cemetery a striking setting above the city. This included drive offers a moment to consider the people commemorated here and the Pacific’s place in wartime history.
Guided Historic Honolulu Walking Tour
Walk through downtown Honolulu on a guided tour of Hawaii’s civic and royal landmarks. Pass ?Iolani Palace, the former residence of Hawaii’s monarchs, and see the King Kamehameha I Statue and Hawaii State Capitol from outside.
The palace is the only royal palace in the United States and stands close to sites associated with the Hawaiian Kingdom. Your walk places Honolulu’s public buildings alongside the history of the monarchy and its overthrow.
Hawaii Volcanoes National Park
Explore Hawaii Volcanoes National Park on the Big Island and view the Steam Vents and Kilauea Crater. This UNESCO World Heritage Site protects volcanic landscapes shaped by Kilauea and Mauna Loa, alongside native habitats and places of cultural significance.
Steam rising from the ground makes the island’s geology visible at close range. The park visit offers a chance to learn how volcanic activity formed Hawaii’s landscapes; what can be seen may vary with conditions and park access.
Keauhou Manta Ray Learning Experience
Learn about Keauhou’s manta rays with a Local Specialist at the Manta Ray Learning Center. Discover the rays’ life cycle, why they feed along the Kona coast and how local education and research support their protection.
At the resort’s shoreline viewing area, look for mantas in the water below. Lights attract plankton, which can draw the rays close to shore. Watching for these wild animals is a distinctive Keauhou experience, though sightings cannot be guaranteed.
Kona Salt Farm Visit & Hosted Lunch
Visit Kona Salt Farm for a hosted Be My Guest experience with Ipo, its Ambassador of Aloha. Watch the salt-production process, taste salts with different flavour profiles and enjoy lunch while learning about salt’s place in Hawaiian culture.
The farm produces salt from deep ocean water, offering an opportunity to compare its methods with salt-making elsewhere. Conversation with your local host makes the meal part of the experience, connecting the flavours on the table to their source.
Greenwell Farms Kona Coffee Tour & Tasting
Explore Greenwell Farms on a Kona coffee plantation tour, tracing the crop from plant to cup before tasting 100% Kona coffee. Learn how coffee is grown and roasted in a region known for its long coffee-growing tradition.
The farm also shares practices such as water reclamation, mulching and solar-powered operations. This MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® experience connects a local product to the people and resources behind it, while your visit supports responsible consumption and production.
Keauhou Bay Hawaiian Luau
Experience a Hawaiian luau on Keauhou Bay with an included dinner of island flavours and tropical drinks. Listen for the conch shell and drums, and watch Polynesian dance beneath the trees and open sky.
A luau brings food and performance together in a social celebration. Its coastal setting adds the sound of the ocean to an evening centred on music, movement and the hospitality associated with gathering around a shared meal.
Polynesian Cultural Center Villages
Choose an optional visit to the Polynesian Cultural Center on Oahu. Explore village settings representing six Pacific cultures and watch artisans demonstrate practices such as dance, making clothing from plants and jewellery-making.
The demonstrations offer a closer look at how stories and skills are shared across generations, including traditions maintained without a written language. This experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour; it is an alternative to returning to Waikiki with the group.
Kohala Off-Road Adventure & Waterfall Walk
Explore the Big Island’s Kohala region on an off-road adventure and relaxed trail walk. The excursion takes you to a hidden waterfall and an overlook of Pololu Valley, where steep green slopes descend towards the coast.
The mix of rough-road travel and walking gives this outing a more active feel than a conventional viewpoint stop. It is at additional cost and bookable on tour for travellers keen to experience Kohala’s scenery and history beyond Kona.
Kona Coast Snorkelling Excursion
Discover the Kona coast from the water on an optional snorkelling excursion around Pu?uhonua o Honaunau and Kealakekua Bay. Look beneath the surface and take in a shoreline shaped by lava, including sea caves and lava tubes along the route.
These coastal waters offer a different perspective on the Big Island’s volcanic terrain and marine environment. Conditions and what you see in the water vary. The excursion is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
?Iao Valley State Park
Visit ?Iao Valley State Park on Maui to take in its steep, green valley walls and view Kuka?emoku, the ?Iao Needle. The distinctive rock pinnacle rises from a landscape of tropical vegetation in the West Maui Mountains.
The valley holds deep significance in Hawaiian history, including its association with the 1790 Battle of Kepaniwai. Scenery and history sit close together here, making the visit more than a mountain viewpoint.
Polynesian Cultural Center Dinner & Ha: Breath of Life
Enhance the optional Polynesian Cultural Center visit with a meal and Ha: Breath of Life, a stage production combining Pacific Island song and dance. It offers an evening-focused choice for travellers who want more than the village demonstrations.
Music, choreography and storytelling bring the performance’s cultural themes to the stage. This enhancement is at additional cost and bookable on tour; ask your Travel Director about arrangements for adding it to the cultural centre experience.
