Additional information

Meet your Travel Director and fellow travellers over a light meal in Athens. This hosted gathering offers a chance to get acquainted and hear about the experiences ahead.

In a capital where ancient monuments share the streets with lively cafés and neighbourhoods, the welcome gathering provides a relaxed introduction to the group and a chance to ask questions before exploring Greece together.

Explore Athens with a Local Specialist and visit the Acropolis and Parthenon, the hilltop sanctuary dedicated to Athena. See the Royal Palace, Temple of Olympian Zeus and Hadrian’s Arch, and view the stadium associated with the first modern Olympic Games in 1896.

The tour connects the city’s classical monuments with its later history, revealing how ancient temples and civic spaces remain part of everyday life in the Greek capital.

Visit the Acropolis Museum in Athens to see antiquities recovered from the Acropolis and its slopes. Its galleries display sculpture, architectural fragments and objects that shed light on worship and daily life in the ancient city.

Look for the museum’s collection of Parthenon sculptures and the original Caryatid figures from the Erechtheion. The displays offer a closer understanding of the artistry behind the monuments rising above Athens.

Explore ancient Corinth with a Local Specialist and learn why its position between mainland Greece and the Peloponnese made it a valuable prize for successive powers. Encounter the remains of a city shaped by Greek and Roman history.

See the nearby Corinth Canal, the steep-sided waterway cut through the isthmus in the 19th century. Its narrow passage makes the geography that gave ancient Corinth its strategic importance easy to grasp.

Walk through Mycenae’s Lion Gate with a Local Specialist and explore the remains of its fortified citadel, associated in legend with King Agamemnon. See the palace remains and the monumental beehive tomb known as the Treasury of Atreus.

Mycenae was a centre of Bronze Age power long before classical Athens. Its massive stone walls and royal burial architecture reveal the scale of a civilisation that helped inspire Greek epic tradition.

Visit the ancient theatre at Epidaurus, celebrated for its graceful stone seating and remarkable acoustics. View the nearby Sanctuary of Asclepius, where people in antiquity sought healing under the protection of the god of medicine.

The theatre formed part of a wider sacred landscape devoted to health and ritual. Asclepius’s snake-entwined staff remains a familiar emblem of medicine, linking this Peloponnesian site to a symbol still recognised today.

Visit Axion Esti, a family-run organic beekeeping facility in Argos. Meet Sophia and Anthony, suit up to see the hives up close, explore the on-site museum and taste local honey, including honey flavoured by the region’s thyme.

Hear how the family’s work supports pollinators and the surrounding ecosystem. This MAKE TRAVEL MATTER® experience offers a hands-on look at traditional beekeeping and supports the conservation aims of UN Sustainable Development Goal 15: Life on Land.

Explore ancient Olympia with a Local Specialist, visiting the stadium that hosted the ancient Olympic Games and seeing the remains of the Temples of Zeus and Hera. Discover where athletes trained and where competitors began the stadium sprint.

Visit the archaeological museum to examine finds from the sanctuary. Together, the ruins and exhibits reveal how athletic competition was woven into religious celebration in ancient Greece.

Join the Karabelas family at their olive and wine farm near Olympia for a home-cooked lunch and traditional dancing. Hear about their history on the land while sharing food in the welcoming setting of a working family estate.

This Be My Guest experience brings Greek hospitality into focus through the people who cultivate the region’s olives and grapes. The meal and music offer a personal connection to rural Peloponnesian life.

Walk Delphi’s Sacred Way with a Local Specialist, passing the reconstructed Athenian Treasury and the Polygonal Wall to reach the Temple of Apollo. See reminders of the Pythian Games and the offerings made by visitors to the sanctuary.

Set on the slopes of Mount Parnassus, Delphi drew people from across the ancient world to consult Apollo’s oracle. Its mountain setting and surviving monuments convey the significance of that journey.

See the Leonidas Monument at Thermopylae and learn about the narrow pass where Greek forces, including Spartan warriors under King Leonidas, resisted the Persian army in 480 BCE.

The coastline has shifted since the battle, changing the appearance of the landscape. The monument offers a place to consider the events behind one of ancient Greece’s most enduring accounts of courage and military sacrifice.

Visit the monasteries of Meteora with a Local Specialist, entering two Eastern Orthodox monasteries perched on immense sandstone pillars above Kalambaka. Take in the views across the rock formations that make this UNESCO World Heritage landscape so distinctive.

Monastic communities established themselves on these hard-to-reach heights centuries ago in search of solitude and spiritual focus. The visit brings together religious heritage, centuries-old architecture and the drama of the Thessalian landscape.

Discover Santorini on an island orientation, taking in the volcanic landscape and the whitewashed settlements perched above its caldera. Gain a sense of the island’s layout and the clifftop setting that shapes its celebrated views.

Santorini’s crescent form reflects an ancient volcanic eruption, while its villages look across the flooded caldera toward neighbouring islets. The orientation introduces the geology and Cycladic architecture that define the island’s character.

Explore Mykonos Town on an orientation, seeing the Kato Mili windmills above the harbour and the whitewashed lanes of Chora. Discover the compact layout of a town known for its bright facades, blue details and bougainvillea.

The windmills recall an era when island breezes powered the milling of grain. Among Chora’s winding streets, their familiar silhouettes offer a connection between Mykonos’s working past and its present-day seaside atmosphere.

Try your hand at preparing local Greek dishes during an interactive cooking lesson in Delphi. Work with regional ingredients and learn techniques behind the flavours of a Greek home kitchen.

The experience offers a practical way to engage with local food traditions rather than simply ordering from a menu. This Optional Experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour, subject to availability.

Sail across Santorini’s caldera by catamaran, viewing the island’s layered volcanic cliffs from the water. Stop for a swim in the clear Aegean, with the whitewashed settlements high above the shoreline.

From sea level, the scale of the caldera and the contrast between dark volcanic rock and bright Cycladic buildings become especially clear. This Optional Experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour, subject to availability.

Board a traditional caique for Nea Kameni and hike across the volcanic islet in Santorini’s caldera. Cruise to the hot springs for a soak, and enjoy a casual dinner with wine while watching the sunset over Oia.

The excursion pairs an active look at Santorini’s volcanic landscape with time on the Aegean. This Optional Experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour, subject to availability.

Join a traditional Greek wedding celebration on Santorini, with food, wine, music and dancing. Take part in the festive atmosphere and perhaps smash a plate as part of the evening’s entertainment.

Designed as a lively cultural celebration, this hosted event offers a different way to experience the island beyond its clifftop views. This Optional Experience is at additional cost and bookable on tour, subject to availability.
