Additional information
Jackson Hole Horseback Trail Ride
Ride a horse on a guided trail experience in the Jackson Hole area, taking in the open landscape at a slower pace. It’s a chance to spend time outdoors and get a feel for the riding traditions associated with this part of Wyoming.
Jackson Hole’s ranching heritage remains part of its identity, set against a backdrop of mountain peaks and broad valleys. This optional activity is at additional cost and bookable on tour; the route and riding arrangements may vary.
Old Faithful Geyser
Watch Old Faithful erupt in Yellowstone National Park, sending a column of hot water and steam above the Upper Geyser Basin. Its frequent, closely monitored eruptions have made it one of the world’s most recognisable geysers, though the exact timing and height of each display vary.
Old Faithful offers a vivid introduction to Yellowstone’s geothermal landscape. Heat beneath the ground, water and pressure combine to produce the eruption—a visible reminder that the park sits above an immense volcanic system.
Grand Prismatic Spring
See Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone’s Midway Geyser Basin, where steam rises from a vast blue pool edged with bands of orange, yellow and green. View this remarkable hot spring from the designated paths and take in its unusual scale and colour.
Grand Prismatic is the largest hot spring in the United States. Its brilliant outer colours come from heat-loving microorganisms that thrive at different temperatures, turning the surrounding ground into a natural spectrum.
Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone, Waterfalls & Artist Point
Take in the Grand Canyon of the Yellowstone from its scenic viewpoints and see waterfalls cutting through the vividly coloured gorge. Walk to Artist Point for a view along the canyon towards the Lower Falls, with time to appreciate and photograph the landscape.
The Yellowstone River carved this deep canyon through volcanic rock altered by geothermal activity. Its pale yellows, rust tones and sheer walls give the falls a distinctive setting—and explain why this viewpoint has long drawn painters and photographers.
Yellowstone Mud Pots & Hot Springs
Explore more of Yellowstone’s geothermal features, including steaming hot springs and bubbling mud pots. Watch for the shifting textures and colours of the ground as heated water and gases reach the surface, and experience the sights and sounds of this active volcanic landscape.
Mud pots form where acidic water breaks down surrounding rock into clay, creating pools that bubble and change with water levels. These unusual features reveal a different side of Yellowstone from its clear blue springs and erupting geysers.
Snake River White-Water Rafting
Join a white-water rafting trip on the Snake River near Jackson Hole. Paddle with your group through moving water and rapids, taking in the river corridor from a perspective that’s very different from the surrounding trails and roads.
The Snake River winds through the Jackson Hole region beneath the Teton Range, with stretches known for rafting. Water conditions shape each run, adding to the hands-on experience. This optional activity is at additional cost and bookable on tour.
Grand Teton National Park Lakes & Trails
Explore Grand Teton National Park on foot, with time to take in the clear water of Jenny Lake beneath the sharply rising Teton Range. Visit the shores of Jackson Lake and see Jackson Lake Dam, keeping watch for wildlife across the valley.
The park protects a striking contrast of glacial lakes, forest and rugged mountain peaks. Its trails offer a closer look at the landscape than a scenic drive alone, with places to pause beside the water and take in the scale of the mountains.
Oxbow Bend Scenic Viewpoint
Visit Oxbow Bend, where a broad curve of the Snake River opens onto views of Mount Moran reflected in the water. Look across the riverbanks and wetlands for wildlife, and take time to photograph one of Grand Teton National Park’s best-known mountain scenes.
The river’s slow-moving bend creates a quieter setting than the park’s trails. Reeds, water and forest frame the Teton peaks, while changing light can make the same view look different from one moment to the next.
