Tiscali Nuragic Village Hike & Su Gologone Karst Spring
Explore the Tiscali Nuragic village, concealed within a vast hidden doline atop Monte Tiscali. Pick your way to stone dwellings that seem to merge with the rock and hear theories of refuge communities during Roman times amid the silence of the Supramonte.
Later, visit the Su Gologone karst spring, where emerald waters surge from limestone at remarkable volume. The interplay of light, sculpted rock, and cool air offers a striking contrast to the island’s sunlit peaks.
Gorropu Gorge Guided Hike
Join a guided hike into Gorropu Gorge, where Supramonte limestone towers up to 500m and boulders bleach under Mediterranean sun. Walk river-smoothed stones, pause at sculpted narrows, and—if conditions allow—cool your feet in the clear Flumineddu River, framed by oleander and juniper.
Learn how water and time carved one of Europe’s deepest canyons and why its microclimate shelters rare flora. The soaring limestone walls and cathedral-like hush make this a signature Sardinian wilderness experience.
Sea Kayaking from Cala Gonone to Cala Luna
Paddle stable sea kayaks along the cliffs of the Gulf of Orosei to Cala Luna. Glide beneath honeyed limestone, slip into sea caves and grottoes where water glows electric blue, and skirt pocket coves unreachable on foot.
Beach at Cala Luna’s crescent of pale sand and six cavernous arches, perfect for shade and photos. This coastal journey balances active pace with time to swim in crystal-clear shallows while you kayak the Gulf of Orosei.
Gulf of Orosei Coastal Ride to Osalla di Orosei
Cycle the Gulf of Orosei on quiet lanes and forest tracks from Dorgali, cresting the Passo Lithu viewpoint for sweeping sea-and-forest vistas. Roll through coastal pinewoods scented with myrtle and cistus before reaching Osalla di Orosei beach for a well-earned pause.
Expect a sustained climb on the return, with options to pre-arrange an e-bike if you prefer support. The mix of rural villages, coastal pinewoods, and shimmering shoreline captures Sardinia’s active, elemental side.
Grotta di Ispinigoli Cave Visit
Descend into Grotta di Ispinigoli, a vast limestone chamber famed for a towering 38m column formed over millennia. Follow lit pathways past flowstone draperies and echoing voids while learning how rain and time sculpted this underground world.
This optional visit is bookable on tour at additional cost and pairs smoothly with the cycling day. The cool temperatures and grand scale deliver an atmospheric counterpoint to Sardinia’s sunlit coast.
Boat Trip to Bue Marino Grotto
Embark on a boat trip to Bue Marino Grotto, once a refuge of the Mediterranean monk seal. Step ashore for a guided visit through chambers mirrored by underground lake pools and adorned with stalactites and calcite curtains.
Hear stories of coastal shepherds, ancient markings, and the area’s seal lore as you admire this sea-carved maze. This optional experience is bookable on tour at additional cost and is weather dependent along the Gulf of Orosei.
Horse Riding in the Supramonte Foothills
Saddle up for horse riding in the Supramonte, tracing shepherd paths through cork oak and scented Mediterranean maquis. Gentle climbs reveal viewpoints across Dorgali’s countryside and views to the Gulf of Orosei, with guides matching routes to experience levels.
Expect steady trails, helmets provided, and abundant fresh air. This optional outing is bookable on tour at additional cost via the hotel and offers a serene, land-based way to experience Sardinia’s rugged heart.
Welcome Dinner in Dorgali & Meet Your Tour Leader
Gather at Hotel Il Querceto to meet your tour leader over a hosted welcome dinner. Taste Sardinian flavors—culurgiones, local pecorino, and Cannonau wines—as you hear how hikes, rides, and paddles unfold around Dorgali and the Supramonte limestone massif.
Settle into the terrace ambience and the warmth of Sardinian hospitality. This relaxed briefing equips you with local insight on trail etiquette, sea conditions, and village life so you start the week confident and connected with your group.
